I built a site with the specific purpose of making money with adsense. It's not a great site (yet) but I'm working on it. It hasn't even been listed on Google or Yahoo yet so I have very limited traffic. I'm trying to decide if I should give adwords a try. I've got a couple of affiliate adds running but don't expect a whole lot of income from them. The site is a guide to help beginners find freeware downloads for website development tools and good quality tutorials. I think I'm going to have a hard time getting good page ranks because the keywords are pretty popular. I only have about $100 a month that I could budget for a campaign. Any thoughts or advice?
If the keyterms are competitive, then so will AdWords be. What you're describing is arbitrage, and it's becoming harder and harder to make a profit from. Unless your website is unique enough for people to link to it or bookmark it after clicking on an AdWord to visit it, I doubt whether you'll generate a profit from buying ad clicks. Try other forms of marketing such as StumbleUpon or link building
