i have a love hate relationship with s.e.o. i whant a thread that if full of ideas....i want us to help each other... Yeah Im an alien. But really what a concept... Lets keep the thread about how we do it, what the results have been and how to avoid making trouble for our sites while we do it. I think if enough of us really intelligent people on here get together, we should be able to come up with the best seo system, or best seo compilation, in order to maximize our search engine placement. Let the talks begin.

Ok, there are so many different ways to optimize your site, I would like to know something about SEO... And how to do it without causing a problem for your site.

No doubt, this thing is done earlier many times but its not a big deal starting once more..
I am a content writer and all i know is about optimizing the content that is best according to SEO.
In content keep the keyword density in first paragraph and last paragraph more, do internal linking in between pages, make your keywords some what distinctive from other text so that visitors can see and they find in one shot, what content is all about. Don't flood your pages with keywords and they won't help.
In article, use the language as if you are talking to the reader, it makes interest.

Wow, I didn't know that so few people wanted to discuss this topic. New threads about old topics aren't always a bad thing. Not everyone will see the old threads, and not all of the information is current. My point is to have an open discussion on how to get things done with seo and how not to overuse seo as well. And as not to offend anyone, if you are not contributing to the education of people who read these threads, please do not flame or make pointless comments. That does not help nor does it teach anyone. I am sorry that some people think that this is a overused topic, but in my view, as google changes the rules, which they do, a lot, we need to keep these discussions open, because no one wants to not be listed on google due to the overuse of seo. So I hope we can get back on point on this discussion and everyone can give points on how they run seo and stay on top.

 

its not that people dont wanna talk about it... its that its a big subject.. one that needs its own forums.. like the forum u posted this thread in... i dont think its really possible to include all aspects of seo in one thread... but im subscribed now.. so please continue to try

Guys SEO is very vast subject containing all on page and off page optimization issues.

Here are few good tips i read on another forum

1. Put your site in Web Directories, those are just like phonebooks but with use to your website. Find ones that have good PR( Pagerank from 0-10) like PR 3+ and if your site is indexed your PR will increase.

2. Get lots of backlinks, this is a nice way to go. Basically if you post a lot on a forum and put a link on your signature you should get some backlinks depending on how many posts you get.

3. Try to buy links on high PR sites.

4. Submit to multiple search engines such as Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Altavista.

5. Use the Google Webmaster My Site program, and add your site to it. Then create a sitemap and they will Index your site on Google Search engine.

6. Learn how to use Link exchanges. This will get you some traffic.

7. Send messages to friends or people you know, this will get lots of traffic. Most of your friends will love to join your site.

8. You need to do lots of advertising. To do this get a text link or make a small banner. Then pay people to put it up on there site, or even trade posts for advertising.

9. A good way to get a link without any money on someone's site is to maybe post 50 on there forum, then ask for a link on there footer. In a month or so, you will see this paid off, because youre site may have an extra quality direct link and will be indexed in search engines.

10. Find something interesting, and put it on your site. For my site I have news updates on the homepage on interesting topics such as snake venom to top money makers. This draws attention.
