I tried e-cig a few years ago; I guess when they were fairly newcomers, and I really did not feel that I got alot out of it either; they surely have come along way. I recently picked up a new e-cig, and from 2 cartons/month to maybe 5 packs a month, so I am sorta content, and they do have bigger and better ones out there then what I have; I got a two-pack starter kit.... I can see why the cig companies want to have e-cigs banned. that would mean massive profit losses when smokers turns to e-cigs. If the cig companies cant own e-cigs, then it would be logical to try to have e-cigs banned, and last I heard they are working on it. I guess if a big company doesnt like something messing with their profits they make off killing people, then they surely will lobby against it. Darn cig companies, too bad this is a free market society, and you want to ban e-cigs? Another person dies from lung cancer..cig company response "oh shit, we lost another consumer" The govt is like "oh shit, less tax revenue for us" and why would the govt want you to live longer then need be anyway? They want you to work all your life, then die 1 second before retirement, then insult your death with $250 death benefit; new retirement age: 125...Lets go blow up another terrorist country, then spend billions in rebuilding their blown up cities; Then we bribe other terrorist counties to be our friends, and all you get is $250 when you die! I maybe stuck on nicotine: but I am feel'n good.... and I am feel'n better.... If someone were to sticky this post... Someone else just may end up living longer...
I have a friend that recently quit smoking just straight up cold turkey. He's saved a fortune just in the past few weeks and has no more cravings.
It sounds easy, but it really isnt... I quit 100 thousand times myself.... and I still havent quit; just reduced my intake of cigs of about 95% or so..... which is still damn good since cigs in my area run somewhere of $80/carton. It would be pretty rare for someone to quit, and not have any cravings, otherwise, all the smokers in the world would not be smoking; my guess is is taking some type of nicotine aide....
what on earth are you smoking? gold encrusted cigarettes or something? a 10 pack in the UK costs about £5 which is around $8.
Some states love to rape cig smokers, and i no doubt live in one of those states. This is why people find alternatives, and I have found mine... and that sounds about right, around $8/pk - 10 per carton = $80 You used to get discounts buying cartons over single packs, but i have not even seen that in sometime...cig company got smart and decided to knock out discounts on something you are going to buy anyway, because they know they got you by the balls... but not so much anymore with modern e-cigs.... I imagine if the cig companies can not get e-cigs banned, and start losing more, then they will have to start charging more in order to make up for the losses.... Their profit margin over all is more important then your life...
price so far has never been an incentive, even though, every time you smoke a cig that only cost 5-10 cents to make, you know your getting screwed. I have my e-cig incentive now, saving a ton, and investing in a better future.... ecig-juice = priceless....
My dad died of the age of 62 from lung cancer. If only e-cigs existed back then. It's the tar in the cigarettes that kills you, not nicotine. E-cigs all the way!! Love your post @dscurlock
thanks, wife still hasnt caught on, even thought we got her one too... so still losing $8/day with her smoking...but it works for me... I have cut my smoking by 90-95% so maybe time for an ecig upgrade.. (and that is extra grocery money in the pocket buddy)
I know to immediately quit smooking is rather difficult, but if there is a will there is no word that can't be....
There is a will, its called e-cig's without the poison... (and at least that is a start, ill gladly take that option for right now)
It is hard to say that ecigs are bad or not...I mean, there is no tar now? I guess the main complaint is that it is just a new way to administer a drug
I have gone from 2 packs a day for the past 15 years to being darn near zero nicotine after only about 7 months, I NEVER thought I would be able to quit smoking until I got that first ecig (a vape pen not the cheap little cig looking things). The only problem now is that I love to collect vape gear and try new set ups lol but at least im not spending money on killing myself with real cigs. This isn't a shameless plug but an honest invitation to those that want to talk more about ecigs. We have a small but growing group of vapers, newbs and veterans alike over at navapers.com if anyone wants to come join in the discussions. We have more and more people looking to switch and they have lots of questions that some of you might be able to help answer. Take care all and vape on!
