I'm with you sitetutor. I'm not an MS fan by any means but there's something about "the gates factor" that whenever MS decides they want in, the get in. And to echo what seems to be the recurring thought with most posters here, I'm getting 45% of my traffic from MSN and only 15% from Google. I guess it's time for me to write something so I can track my SERP's there more easily.
I am #1 for a bunch of keywords at MSN. After the recent google shakeup, my postitions went up significantly w/ them. My traffic has tripled- which still isnt that much. BUT, the percentage of my visitors from MSN has dropped from about 40% to 5%. Is the disparity between the number of people who use google and msn that great? In my case, it could be related to demographics...but at this point---I am just glad with the increase in traffic.
MSN has now climbed to 16% of my overall SE referrals. This is a jump of about 7% in just under a month. My Yahoo! traffic is taking off too. And Google has slipped about 5%. I know a lot of factors can contribute to these statistics but it's pretty exciting to see people using other resources. It only makes the SE's better.
MSN is bringing in 98% of my traffic now and 99% of SE referrals. Basically what Rob said, no traffic from Google but with the traffic I"m now getting from MSN it doesn't really matter. stats up 217% and #3 in the directory so far today. :] MSN is good.
Here's my breakdown for the last seven days: google.com 49.06% search.msn.com 15.87% search.yahoo.com 14.70% aolsearch.aol.com 4.42% froogle.google.com 1.69%
Google only account for 0.34% of my total referrers, yahoo is 0.21%, and, MSN is too low to even register (I only track the top 1000). Edit: These stats are from Feb.
