There is no need for me to lie about the php programmer, here is one of these type of job posts: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/phpexperts/message/8900 not sure if you can access it without being a member of the Yahoo group though. But you are making assumptions on the basis of the understanding you have of other 3rd world countries. You should really check the stats available for Bangladesh especially in regards to IT and Internet, you will be surprised how far behind the country really is and that the people do well to educate themselves but there are no jobs! A handful of creative people breakout, but to earn 12,000 TK a month in Bangladesh is exceptional, not anyone and everyone can outsource work; there is no credit card solution for the layman either. Anyways back to the work at hand.
Then you should hurry up, cause this western firms will come VERY quickly it sounds like a great opportunity for them. I see the vacancy, however can't see if it filled. We can see for sure only if anyone including you will hire such php guys (maybe there are some of them in DP, where are you bangladesh people ?) for $200. I am speaking based on my assumptions cause lot of 3rd world countries have very similar economics. Anyway I don't comfortable by myself to pay people such money without knowing real expenses in country in average. Cause that is part of colonial thinking.
Sorry guy's but what's this "No seo no affiliate marketing ?" Damn no. I know ton's of people who have high experience with search engine optimization and don't even get returns of affilate marketing. It's all about the marketing principles. How to show the product and how to persuade to buy the product. In the second term search engine optimization is important to sell lots of products from your organic targeted traffic. When I entered 6 years ago in to this market lot's of principles changed. So don't tell me seo is the most important thing in aff marketing.. It's not that important. You have to be generic you have to be entusiastic to handle this type of jobs. You should understand the people who is being targeted. Unless If you don't know what your selling and whom your selling to. It's useless. On day 1 you will have profit But on day 2 you will not have profit as been expected.
I've just made a google search to find out about php programers in bangladesh So far have found some of resumes, general portals also some profile in getacoder where guy wants $7/hour http://www.getacoder.com/users/tuhincse99/tuhincse99_profile.htm Founded another one with broken link $10 per hour. Also programing firm who charges $14-$18 per hour http://www.quantumcloud.com/webdesign-price.php I don't say php guys will get $16 per hour, but definitely more than just $1-$1,5 per hour, cause if he discover that company gets 1500% profit of him he'll run and go to freelance sites selling himself for $7+ per hour and WILL get paid. Also http://www.pajaxsoft.com/dedicated-developer-service/hire-php/mysql-programmer.html another one bangladesh based, $1000/month, no way they pay programmers only $200. Another one http://www.capacitywebsolutions.com/hire-dedicated-php-programmers-services.html $1200/month. Lot of firms also charge about 20% of programers time in boss pocket + one-time fee for setup. Looks like we live in different worlds I've even see that business owners in DP say that no one in firms get less than $450 in IT and that was 3 years ago
That is exactly my point. Why is it inspirational to you or anyone if you have no clue HOW he has made it? I mean, if I need an ispiration, I will look up to Sergey Brin or Rupert Murdock for an inspiration (or many others who really have made it in this world). I understand your point, I just think we all have to be less of a jerk and more of a helpful individual if we really want others to succeed, otherwise it makes no sense.
I've never had a problem with articles getting approved by other directories, this is why I don't really pay attention to them
My motto is: "Fail your way to success." It's worked so far. Look up how many times Abe Lincoln ran and lost for public offices before he became President... I think it was about 8 times. Or how many times Thomas Edison failed while trying to create the lightbulb - somewhere around 10,000 times.
There are plenty of clues, you just have to find them and follow them up with your own research. If something has never been done before then it's a bit more of a challenge. If someone has done it first then you know that it's possible to do it yourself and that's why it's inspirational. By doing some research and actually doing some hard work yourself you can do likewise....if you want to that is. Not everyone has the time or the inclination to work that hard because of other committments or priorities.
this is what vitalbusiness would come back and say if Murdoch took an hour to give him tips on how to succeed: "Murdoch is such a jerk, all he told me was how the media industry works, how he started in it, and what steps he took to get to where he is. he could have just given me $1 million since he's worth billions, but he didn't, instead, gave me all this useless info" you certainly sound like you are a loser though
I think that surf4fun guy is gone and so is the OP. I was reading this thread to see if I can pick up any pearls of affiliate marketing Wisdom. Firstly this was quite an interesting thread, and Inspiring. surf4fun's rant against affiliates is not wrong from his point of view and affiliate marketing as we see it. But it is still wrong when we look at Affiliate marketing as CPA. I will explain below. It is right when he says that it is like gambling, because he doesn't actually mean it. Look at the google ads that we see today.. Half of them are advertising cookie cutter "landing pages" the same offer being promoted by many IMs waiting for thier elusive SALE. It is easy to frustrate some one NABS has done an impressive job, but I won't want to be in his shoes. I have also been thinking of putting of Aff Links instead of google ads on my network, since most of the ads are from Aff marketers anyway looking for low cpc, which is why this thread attracted me. What I am trying to do here it to make surf4fun understand Affiliate marketing. And to suggest NABS a few things that can make this business sustain long after 30 years as surf4fun suggested he should exit at 30. He wasn’t wrong, actually. Here is why. He depends on SE traffic. Let us take the example of the HARDDISK. How can he compete against professionally written Reviews or even Amazon product page in a long term with a 100 page website written just for the purpose of selling the piece? Is it giving any value to the customer? With all his money, he should now focus on building quality site around his products. Mega content sites, with professional content writers. Or he can hire the PHP programmers above to create a cool Review Aggregator. The point his, his website should attract at least 50-40 direct type-in customers. What if google tomorrow decides his sites are not quality sites? Google Traffic is great, but unless you get return visitors, you site is not QUALITY site. Think about tomorrow. You have the money and the time. This is my plan. I also own site networks but I only monetize with different types of Ads. I am not too good with CPAs. And dear surf4fun. Let me be nice to you. All you said are nothing wrong. I hate to see those clickbank ebooks. Google also agrees and have been slapping ebook sellers with Low Quality Scores. I also hate those medicine affiliates. I don’t if those medicines are genuine, but I prefer all medicines to be prescription unless they are known OTC and generics. And making a living off this is not sustainable for the long term I agree. But if you are selling Travel Deals from Expedia.com (or yatra.com in India) But if you are selling laptops for buy.com But if you are selling Hotel bookings for hotels.com But if you are selling Loans for Wachovia bank And if you can sell them better than Wachovia’s Online Marketing team, or Expedia’s Adword’s or SEO team, what is wrong? It just proves that you are smarter. This is the power of Internet My friend, Of the Network Economy. The web 2.0 economy where we individuals will break the establishments. How did Amazon Break Barnes and Nobles? And now what if a specialist on J2EE actually reviews and recommends O Reilly J2EE books from his blog? He is a better seller than Amazon.. Got my Idea? That is Affiliate Marketing my Friend. The industry is nascent, so you see unscrupulous persons or spammers selling a lot of things, but these are sustainable business my friend. Here Nabs is just a boy, but many of the Online Marketers are Engineers and MBAs. I am sure NABS would also have made it big elsewhere. He could have been a top shot investment banker or a Brand Manager at P & G. Affiliate marketing is the bad sounding namesake for CPA.. Earlier in the days before Internet, Information used to be a monopoly of the Big Businesses that your cousins own. They used to say anything they want on the TV and Radio. So only the big businesses and their wholesalers and retailer sold GOODs. Then Internet Happened. We now don’t listen to the one sided propaganda of the Big Pharma / Real estate Businesses. We now go to google and look for reviews And NABs pages happen to rank well for those reviews. This is why I earlier told NABS to bank on this to create REAL PROFESSIONAL REVIEW SITES And let me tell you about Online advertising. Earlier and even today, we have the most UNTARGETTED advertisement in the form of TV commercials. They collect demographics info and stuff like that and try to put up Beer Commercials during sports (and sports lover love Beer) but they also show us TAMPON commercials. Why do I care about Tampons? Getting me? Then came contextual advertising. You see a tampon advertisement only if a girl is searching for “ Oh My God I am BL*******†(the ad will show up even if a guy were searching but that will stay until the next google comes along) And she will click the AD. And google charges the advertiser only for the Click. But wait, what if the girl was only looking for information on cycles for her biology project? Why should advertiser pay? That is the flaw in PPC or contextual ads. The advertising are now extremely targeted compared to TV commercials, but for laser targeting, the CPA form of advertising came along. You only pay after customer has taken some ACTION. READ BOUGHT. What is so wrong in this business? And because, since you suck in Online marketing, why don’t I send you customers looking online to book for a CAB from X to Airport, and I charge you a percentage of the taxicab fare? What is so gambling about this business? If I have a thin site which I managed to rank with directory submission, article submission, some dig bait etc etc, I stand the chance of losing google ranking and it can be called a gamble.. Did you mean that? But NABs now has the resource to hire top notch writers and programmers to create real Portals. Hey NABs, I like deals2buy.com Why not improve on that concept by adding aggregated reviews.. And yes, word of mouth traffic is the best traffic. Any ORGANIC Google traffic should be treated as residual or bonus traffic. In My Humble opinion
Now that sounds interesting, if you get such a programmer, @200 pm Let me know. And 200 PM for PHP programmer is not too farfetch either. COnsidering even in India, mediocre java programmers with 1-2 years experience get around 500-800 dollars PM even at MNCs
Well this is for surf4fun - Dude you just don't get the whole Internet Marketing thing because you haven't done your homework like a lot of other people who come here. You just don't try to find the dictionary meaning of the word "Internet Marketing" .. it is just like traditional marketing done in newspaper and print. Just the media used is the Internet . There is a particular importance of every business and each and every business is dependent upon some other business. Businesses cannot survive alone. You may say that your cousin works as a software developer in a company and makes 6000$ per month. What about the venture capitalist who invested money into the company ? Substitute him into the internet marketing scene. Didn't he invest 1 million and sell his stake for 50 million ? Real estate barons and many other business still exist with 5000% ROI or more. The place where Internet (online world) and offline world become dependent or combine together is marketing and advertising. The internet has enabled the offline merchants to market their products and services more effictively than ever before possible. Do you have any fucking Idea of how many Credit Card applications does big banks process which are just given by affiliates ???? Remember its middle five figures. Browse through the affiliate network and you will see Insurance and Loan companies listed on them. Ask the affiliate networks how many leads those insurance companies get from the affiliates. Middle five figures. You can't simply ignore a business which has billions of dollars flowing in and out. It needs to have some base. Affiliate Marketing is the best form of marketing, most of the multinational companies realize this and hence concentrate on it. And moreover when it comes to your brother who got a home loan in US, he and most of them get home loans by searching for "Home Loan Quotes" In google and probably clicking some affiliate's link over there. Who knows some affiliate might have got paid for his lead as well.
Great post, by blogspotter, nothing new for me, but you have put a lot of time to it surf 4 fun understand everything I bet! he just here to get some attention, lol "mediocre java programmers with 1-2 years experience get around 500-800 dollars" I would even say mediocre PHP programmers, Javas costs 800-100 with 1 year of experience. Simply on DP there are lot of businessmans and lots of poor people who still don't know their real value, and they agree to work for that while they can earn more on local jobs They tell them, wow you'll get $400/month while many in your country getting $200, wow, cool, yeah ? bunch of BS! To live well today in 3rd world you need to earn almost as much as in developed world. Why ? I already explained in posts above. I don't say they would or should pay as much, but definetely not 8 years old salary, lol.
LOL at that Off Topic: But this is also affiliate marketing, Did you meet the yatra guys you mentioned in ur blog a few days back?
To live well today in 3rd world you need to earn almost as much as in developed world. I think you need to look beyond convention and realise that there are people who do not need to 'live well' in some 3rd well country and need to 'survive'! and will do anything. Again you guys are not checking out the stats of what is going on in regards to computer/IT/Internet in Bangladesh. You can not get work and sure the guys who have a PC and internet access should and will take advantage of the opportunity and rightly so, but sadly not enough of these opportunities exist. Someone would have to create those opportunities for them. Anyway this is a discussion I guess I can prove once I get the writers on board which consequently i have had some progression. A friend is in the recruitment now and we should be able to get some shared space from a company that is renting a building space for offices my family owns by giving us access to PC/Internet and office space in the evenings. i have some more interesting news... see below
"Someone would have to create those opportunities for them." Aren't I already gave a link to bangladesh firms who seeking for candidates ? Btw I speaked today with Java guys, 1 from China he gets $1000+/month and one from India with 4-5 years or so of experience, he gets $2200 AFTER taxes Sure I am waiting for news from you. I am really surprised that someone still work for $200 in IT field (field where people usually always live well in every country) on this planet And no way I would want people who need to survive and will do anything for me, cause they usually have 0 experience and ...mmm. I really can't imagine this..err... When you call this opportunity you want to create it to make this people survive or to get decent salary like they should based on their skills ? That most thing I am worried. Will this $200 be enough to rent even 1 tiny bedroom and buy food for even 1 person (you know estate can become crazy and food lately) ? Highly doubt.
I have a catering business also in UK and my partners brother did some graphic design work for me, and I knew he was into the internet. but boy take a look at this: do a google search for 'nokia prism' you will see he is the site on the page. hxxp://www.nokiaprism.com/ wholly affiliate site that is making money Theres a few more sites that he showed me that are doing well in the mobile industry. I spoke to him and we are doing a joint venture, and it will not cost me a dime LOL. So we going in the process of a skin care site. The site is an existing domain with PR3 and 600 backlinks. it ranks 13 for a popular 2 word keyword. i do not want to way anything now, but expect me to come back here to dwell on the successes and failures in details. I just want to say that the domain is 4 months live, but owned for longer. The only method used to get those backlinks were using submission to web directory with the keyword anchor texted. The target was however for the UK but there is over 100,000 competitors for the keyword term. i will also tell you what that is but just wait till I iron out a few stuff on the site and I built it on Joomla + virtuemart and it is extremely buggy and everything is failing on it SEF, .js, etc. In fact when you go to the site you have to do a hard refresh for it to load as the site always comes up unavailable, the host conflicts with the php scripting, but this goes to show the power of backlinking helps even if you have a dead page. maybe at least some departing tips on the matter: The site has a silo structure. So long tail keywords are anchor texted in the web directory to sub-pages i.e. mysite.com/main-keyword/specific-product.html and these pages link back to mysite.com/main-keyword.html. The ratio of the web directory IPs are split between different anchor texts, therefore different anchor texts have been used on different directories (different IPs) linking to the specific-products.html pages giving it natural linking feel. So I did not have all the links pointing to the homepage and not all the distribution of anchor text where the same even to one page, 3-4 were used. now each page did have a unique article written for it (i.e. specific-product.html) and so did the main keyword page mysite.com/main-keyword.html. As mentioned the specific-product.html pages had anchor texts to mysite.com/main-keyword.html. I have not proof-read this post hope it makes sense. Oh by the way the distribution was done about 20 listing to directories a day to make it realistic as possible. I think it would have been more effective if I had written articles for specific categories in ezines, but that would be more costly (I think I paid $12 - $15 for the directory submission), but I was not aggressive in the marketing due to the script screwing me around and I have the exact site duplicated elsewhere that makes the monies (but US/UK targeted) that had the priority in this area. hope this helps Also check out hxxp://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/, a completely statics type of site i.e. the format is handcoded, check the source code for the H1, H2, etc. You will notice the menu on the left. It is not using suckerfish style menu. This is important for SEO factors, also the very first anchor text is for 'mobile phone uk' that points to back to the site. Google gives weight to the 1st link back to the main domain and not the others, i.e. if your logo has a link to your site (most sites do) and it does not have an anchor text, you will lose the weight of the anchor text back to you own site from within the site (debated, but I got solid performance from others) think about it.
