I lost Over 1,000 Yahoo Backlinks Within 48hrs?

I lost 1,000 Yahoo Backlinks Within 48hrs? How is this possible? Website was with FreeBundles.com

I recently stopped Yahoo's Overture (PPC) around the same time, however, it's been dropping before that too. I was up to about 2,700, now down to 1,050 something.

Where did they go and how can they disappear that fast?

Did you do a lot of commenting on blogs, specifically blogs with the Top Commenter plugin? if that is the case, many of those sites refresh the top commenter every month, so if you stopped posting comments as much this april on those blogs, and you no longer have the site-wide link, then that could be the loss of the backlinks.

 

I noticed that about 10 hrs. ago YB to one of my websites dropped to 1, now everything is back to normal. Maybe Yahoo! just had problems of some kind?

 

That was going to be my next guess for him....

 

I did do a lot of blog commenting from blogs on digg.com, blogs from clipmarks, and google searching relevent blogs.

I don't understand. My comment doesn't stay there??

Can I get these Back? There is no way for me to remember whey I commented from

 

If you commented... they stay.... but read about the Top Commenter's plugin, which gives a sitewide link to the top commenters on the blog.... which means u get a comment on EVERY page of the blog.... if you were the top commenter on a blog, then you would have had a lot of backlinks, but then when the new month comes, if you dont keep it up, then you lose those backlinks.

 

social bookmarking may also be the reason. your site might be on top for lots of keywords on social bookmarking sites and as time goes the listing will come down and you loose the back link.

it is showing more than 100 links from propeller but after a week, all will be gone as other site will come up for those keywords.
