I lost my XP password for my old laptop

    i have an old laptop with windows xp and i forgot the admin password. i have my laptop beside me now. i do not want to reinstall. i don't want to reset my password,i just want to find out what it is. i can't get into windows. i have tried booting from the win xp cd and there is nothing to help me figure out what my password is. anyone got any ideas?

    Most probably you can't restore password unless you boot up in 'Safe mood' and change the password (easiest solution). Also this trick doesn't work if you've a password set for administrator so you would have to format your lappy.

    Maybe you should try this ?

    Just googled it - no experience with this method though

    but I think you have nothing to lose ;)
