Hi there, So I have a website non older than a year but for nearly 6 months I had it without any update just two or three backlinks. It was intended to be a micro niche site. However, since these kinds of sites do not work anymore, I decided to make it an authority review site. The site has good unique content. Just a month and a half ago I decided to promote it by getting around 10 backlinks per day from different sources such as article directories, blogs and pumping blogs. In that period of time, the site got from 0 to nearly 60 unique visitors per day from a diversity of keywords. However, two days ago, the site lost all rankings for all keywords including their brand name which is not even competitive. I have read this happens often to new sites but since mine is not really brand new I am a little concerned. I am confident if I continue getting good backlinks and adding content the website it will return to normal. However, I would love to hear your experiences and thoughts about this issue. Cheers.
Perhaps you are in the Google Dance, (surprising due to the low volume of link building you have been doing). In that case, maybe google is deciding where to rank you? I have to ask, when you say micor niche, is your content unique? Any spun or scraped content as the January 26th update seemed to affect those 'types' of sites.
Could just be temporary, keep plugging away and see if it persists. One important key is to build, build, build and focus on quality of your content and the backlinks you mentioned you're working on. Many sites experience hiccups like this from time to time but eventually bounce back in the rankings.
I changed all content it had when it was a micro niche site. I added unique content and far more pages. I think this is the Google Dance. However, I just want to make sure I am doing everything good. The site has about 200 backlinks so far from 200 different domains, mostly from do-follow blogs, and not just to the homepage but distributed among many pages. I will keep the same rate until I reach July.
If you lost your keyword ranking then collect more backlinks & to get your ranking back on the position
First check whether or not google has de-index your website by using the command site:www.yoursite.com. If it has not, then the problem you are facing is Google Dance in which Google is not sure about where to place your site in the search engine rankings. If it has deindex your site then try to get it crawled and indexed as fast as possible by submitting it in high PR dofollow sites.
This has happened with me as well. I talked to people around me and they said you are victim of Google dance. But they added the rankings will be back soon; And guess what happened yesterday my keyword were back even with better postilions. So don't worry your keyword will be come back too.
Hi. I agree with all of the above opinion. Just keep on doing in link building and you will be back on track on no time. Just be patient.
make triangular links for your site. it is more beneficial that reciprocal. Secondly consider, is your content search engine friendly and user-friendly also. Your content does matter a lot
i also think this is the Google Dance. It happed with a few sites that i was doing seo work (since this is my main occupation). One day the website was on page one a few days after they got to page 2 and 3. What i have done (and what you should do) is to NOT stop promoting it. Stick with what you do perhaps use senuke and your website will get back to page one . All of my websites are on page one after a few days of "dancing". This process happens every time Google reconsider a site for rankings and it happens frequently to websites that are relatively new.
