I have spent the lat year building up PageRank by doing link exchanges with sites related to mine. I brought my PageRank from 0 to 3 over the last year. It's now 0 again. How can I find out what I have done wrong?
Maybe they found out that you've been link exchanging with too many websites? If I were you, I don't think you should waste your time on just working on your PR.
Search Engine are getting smarter nowadays. Go for 1- way linking instead of reciprocal linking. Anyway, don't spend too much time on PR, just building back links to your site consistently and the PR will come automatically.
What do you mean one-way ? Only have other sites link to me ? Nobody wants to do that without having you link to them also
May be you can have more than one site and give a link to your link exchanging partners from the second one, and take from them to the main site (first one). You can solve this issue like this. I hope so; i think it's according to your link outputs / exhangings. But if you keep your unique visitors still don't make this a problem. You should be more careful from now on. Regards.
Maybe you keep doing what you do last year? keep link exchange to the sites that related to your website
is it possible that by the time google updates our pagerank and his server is down? coz i think my server was down lately. thats why my site didn't get pr update..
You should not focus too much on PR unless your business model is selling links. PR is not the real website indicator anymore. You should focus on site value and ranking for target keywords.
The reason I am concerned is that my position on search pages might go down, which means less traffic, which means less conversions and sales. My site sells a product and it is extremely important that is a user types in my keywords that my site comes up within the first 3 pages. How important is pagerank for google SERP results ? Thanks, Allen
Dear, you do not need to worry next time google crawler will update your website pr. As u know the google search engines are becoming smarter and give pr on the basis of that website performance. With best wishes.
I had the same trouble last year. Here is what I do.... First I do 3 way link exchange. By that, I mean ask webmasters for a link on your main website, and give a link back from another one. Try not to add Links on your main site. And Make Sure you Add your Main Website to the other one. (Don't Link the other website to your Main Website) Second, I participate in forums Third, I leave great comments on blogs Fourth, I also post on SBM websites. I do that on a daily basis, and I try not to build those backlinks too fast Guess what, Now I got a PR5 and PR4 for some of my inner pages, and PR3 for my Homepage Just do the work, and you'll see the results...
Don't use black-hat seo. Maybe you can just check what have done with your site recently. Don't worry, it will be back again.
I think this month or next month google update our website data and you see your site PR increase if your site have many quality back links.
Link Exchange is neither much effective nor permanent.....Avoid that. If you want your page rank to get recovered and sticked for long years then consider High PR Link Building on Dofollow sites. You must do that and no need to work on that for an year....just a few months proper link building and your site will be back to track again. Thanks, RS
