I had over 64,000 pages indexed and now i'm only showing 6?? Can someone care to elaborate? I'm still new to SEO.
Check it regularly, and if it's just happened once or twice in 10 tries, that's normal. If still the same, then maybe your website is banned by google. Check whether you made any contents violate google's rules and standards and modify them. If you did nothing wrong, then maybe it's sandboxed, just keep working on SEO, like submitting to directories, post in forums and social bookmarking websites, etc. Wait a few weeks, and see the result then.
I doubt my site is banned, I checked it with iwebtools.com and besides I don't know any blackhat tricks to get myself banned.
same here one day 200 indexed pages another day 2 pages only I dont what will be tomorrow what is going on?
Foulplay, What did you use to show that your site has only 6 pages? the Google site: operator is a bit dodgy at times as is the API.
xenyo is right, it is most likely not that you only have 6 pages, but rather that you only have 6 pages in the non-supplemental index. Try this, for your domain type in this: [site:www.mydomain.com *** -dichbiducb] How many results do you get? Try again without the www as well, see if it is a different number. -Michael
interesting I got 68,500 page indexed when I typed in [site:mydomain.com *** -dichbiducb] without the www What does that mean??
Ok, well, we need to compare it... give me the number for each of these: [site:www.mydomain.com *** -dichbiducb] [site:www.mydomain.com] [site:mydomain.com] [site:www.mydomain.com "www.mydomain.com"] [site:mydomain.com "mydomain.com"] Also, when doing the [site:www.mydomain.com] search, after you grab the initial count, look for the following link at the end of the list: repeat the search with the omitted results included. Click on that and let us know what the count is after that as well. I can say that offhand it looks like you might be having a problem with supplemental results. I'm guessing that your site uses some sort of CMS, and most, if not all, of the pages are database driven? -Michael
Maybe you're doing blackhat without even realizing it. I'd give it time before you panic, Google loves doing that to us.
Ya Google drops webmasters off the map once in a while, but the best thing to do is just wait it out and continue to add fresh content.
It's actually a good idea to read up on Black Hat SEO, i've seen alot of people use BH tactics thinking they are doing nothing wrong.
