    Hi,

    I was browsing normally on my FireFox that suddenly it stopped working...
    I clicked here and there but nothing happened so i closed it, when I hit the closed button a window appeared "Firefox is not responding - END NOW or CANCEL"
    I select the END NOW button ( Its normal - softwares sometime stops working ) but when I again opened up the FireFox.. I was shocked to see that there is NO bookmark at all.
    Can anyone please tell me is there any way to get them back?

    Thanks

    I used to use an firefox extension that backs up your bookmarks but I don't anymore. I just back up my profiles directory every day when I back up all my other files.
    If you do frequent incremental backups of your data you don't really have to worry about losing anything.

    IE has sign in option to explore your google bookmarks if have the google toolbar installed. That's more safe I think, and it is accessible everywhere!

    I kinda wondering how that could happen? I don't have much complaint with FF except that it sucks a lot of my memory. However the problem seems to have been solved in the latest FF3 - available for download today.

    If you're still using FF2 try the FF3 instead. It safer, faster.

    I think it happened to me before version 1.0. Hasn't happened since, I thought it was fixed in newer versions but apparently not. But like I said I do regular backups of all my important files so I'm not concerned.

    If you're using Windows XP, your bookmarks should be under the root directory of your hard drive (i.e. C:) go to My Documents or Documents and Settings - user - Application Data - somewhere in there your firefox bookmarks are in an html file and reimport them back into Firefox.

    In english:

    Mine is C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default

    the file is called bookmarks.html or bookmarks.bak

    Piece of cake! :D

    Don't tell me you guys rule the internet with you websites but can't find your stuff? {scratching my head}
