I often buy plenty of links for my own sites as well as for our clients' sites. Never faced any problem yet.

It's been 3 years I am member here at this wonderful place DP.

But this time, it really hurted when someone took away $200 and never placed my link on his PR8 site :(

I paid him $200 for a link placement on home page of PR8 site, that person ****** placed my link for max. 2 or 3 days and then my link was being removed very often from his site. I sent him a lot of emails, every time, he excused and said there was fault in system, my link will be up within few hours. But it never went up after his false promises.

I have already filed a dispute on PayPal against him, gave him negative itrader point as well on DP, he seems banned on DP

Please beware of such scammers and lets make this place more peaceful.

Any policy or action in this regard will be appreciated, I believe there must be many other members who get scammed in such way.

Yes, you do business here at your own risk. There is nothing that DP can do to protect you against potential fraud except the awareness of the DP community. We can't do background checks on everyone that registers. It's up to you to do your own due diligence when dealing with potential business partners.

Of course you are taking a bigger risk when someone makes you a big offer and has no itrader. That's always the first big sign. And if the member does have itrader, dig even deeper to see if they bought all their itrader, or if they received their itrader from reputable members. And when dealing with larger sums of money, use an escrow service if necessary.

I doubt there will be any policy changes. Take the advice TikTok (who is a mod) offered.

Please don't post threads to accuse people of scamming. We don't want the he said / she said stuff going on here. You can leave those kinds of comments in two places where the other person is able to view and respond easily:

    1. iTrader Comments
    2. The deal thread itself

As TikTok noted, we don't get involved in private business transactions.
