This is in the wrong section of the forums.. but this is what I would suggest.

Try to put the Adsense links above the fold. What this means is when visitors come to your site they can see that ad right away without having to scroll down. As well make sure the links blend into the website. Like have the hyperlink color match the hyperlink color of all your other links.

This should be a start to get you on the right track.

    As said, wrong section

Anyways. Try putting a ad near the Header area. And the Youtube ads never really bring in money in my experience. Also, make sure the colors of the ads mix :)

lol sorry i put it in the wrong section - im new to these forums, and they single handledly made my site the way it is today. So you said put it in the header as text links? and put an ad at the top of the site instead of the side you say? so i should remove my search?

What you should do is put content text ads at the top of the page if possible and blend it in with the site. Usually you do this because ads at the top get a better conversion. As well you can have one on the side of the website that doesn't hurt.

You can have up to 3 content ads, 3 link units, and a search ad on one page.

So leave the search one in too if you like. I doubt you'll make a lot of money of the search one but it can't hurt to have it on the page.
