I keep getting logged out and needing captcha for every post

For some reason every time I come to the site I have to log back in, even though I have it checked to remember me. Also, every post I make requires a captcha code, is this only until I meet a certain threshold of posts or is it set up this way for everyone making a new thread? I have a hard time reading them. Thanks,

Do you have cookies enabled in your browser, or something installed that deletes them?

Oh Crap! Seriously? I just recently set my IE to delete cookies on exit. Let me change that and see if that helps. Will the captcha per post ever go away?

If you delete cookies, you will get logged out. It will not change the captcha.

Unless it has changed, captcha will go away after 1000 posts.

I do not need to log in for every post, bit it happens pretty often anyway. A little bit more often than usual. This is Just an observation.

I thought it was an IE setting, like Digital Point posted. Changing the setting helped but it does seem pretty often (as little as I post anyway) that I have to enter a capcha before I can post anything.

As mentioned before, captcha stops after 1000 posts.

Yes, it is a lot. It seems to be one of DP's ways of combating spam. I guess the place would be worse without it, though.

I definitely second your opinion, I don't post much because of that, and I cannot format anything - can't even start a new paragraph. Have needed help and can't post a url or code either. I understand it's to stop spam but after enough posts that show I am legit I'd like to see the rules loosened up a little.

exactly. that's why i recommend everyone to use keypic which makes captchas unnecessary rubish and keeps spam away. some people also use akismet but unlike keypic, some packages offered by akismet are for pay.
