I just want to make them money...

    Hey gang,

Just a quick note that apparently Chitika support has fallen in a wormhole or something.

I started a site called www.whonu.com. Perform a search on the site to see it in action.

Anyway, I submitted a request to add minimalls to 'results' pages on this site - Chitika rejected me - said the site didn't have enough content.

Um, duh, it's a search tool that provides results based on a query.

I've seen Chitika used on other 'search results pages', so I'm not sure *they* even understand their policy.

I've sent 4 emails over 2 weeks asking for clarification - are minimalls allowed on search results pages (I've seen them)?

    NO response whatsoever!

You know, all I want to do is help them make money (when I do, they do). My question isn't a difficult one, and it requires nothing more than a yes or no answer.

It ticks me off that they can't spend 10 seconds to send me an answer, when I'll I want to do is promote/use their product.

    I'm dumbfounded!

I see your frustration, however I disagree with your rationale. You applied and they rejected you because your site didn't meet their guidelines. Now you are upset because someone else is breaking their rules.

Once someone is accepted they can put the code on any page they want, so long as it complies with the terms of service. That doesn't physically stop someone from breaking the rules though, and this happens with AdSense too. It is just a matter of time before they figure it out and reprimand or ban the user.

    Hey tflight,

    Thanks for your response.

I must say though that a *majority* of my frustration at this point is their inability to type yes or no in an email, and send me a simple clarification.

    That's all I'm asking.

I never told them their policy was wrong, I'm just trying to clarify what the policy is, and they don't have the courtesy of sending me an email to let me know.

Poor customer service is never a good thing.

I agree, poor customer service isn't a good thing and they should answer your question. Are your support tickets with them still marked as open?

What did you want them to clarify? They said your site did not have enough content. A search results page is hard to argue as content. So what did you want them to clarify?

I agree that it would be good to get a response, but I think they have already provided you with a reasonable answer.

As I said in my original post, minimalls have appeared on sites that simply contain 'search results pages' (no content - in the words of Chitika).

I've seen them on www.gada.be for Pete-sake!!! You can't get any less content.

So, all I'm asking is why? Why are their search results pages OK, but mine aren't? What's the 'secret ingredient' that makes the difference?

    That's a completely valid question.

And if nothing else - even if it's the dumbest question in the world, a 1 or 2 sentence clarification is not too much to ask. Especially consdering that I'm wanting (was wanting) to do this for their benefit too! Unbelievable!

I have similar projects I was going to build that I had hoped to use minimalls on, but without clarification of a policy that doesn't seem to be written in stone (some results pages OK, yours aren't), how am I supposed to know what they require on a 'results' page to make it clear their process?

C'mon, their customer service is awful - and I have moved on.

I'd hate to see what would happen if I had a 'difficult' question.

The answer is that the site you mention probably isn't okay. They probably applied with a different site, got approved, and then used the ad code on other sites that they own.
