I was accepted to adsense and put up the banners Friday night. What do you think about the placement, colors, etc? the link is in my sig
Joe, All I see is adsense in your header. You might want to experiment with adsense in/around the body (although I am not sure I agree with having adsense on an ecom site.) Here is an example of a heat map that might help you with placement. It shows where users' eyes focus. https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html Here is another example of a heat map on an exisiting page design (your design and heat map may vary, but it gives you an idea: http://www.seomoz.org/blogdetail.php?ID=1002
Yeah, I have another thread here discussing the pros/cons of using it on my site. I figured I'd try it out. Interesting links you posted, how is this even possible??
1)Above your menu or below it have google adsense link unit 2) As you have pictures on the page try putting a small rectangular adsense ad below or above each picture. or 3) On the left side use a rectangular ad (120x400) or smaller.
Can you add some discriptions to pictures on index page & blend the google adsense ads to background so that it can give better look to a beautiful website. Good Luck Sreenivasa
Good tips, I changed the top to a link unit and added the rectangular ad on the left panel. I like that look much better, thanks. Do you think my page is too 'google' cluttered now? I want to generate a little more revenue, not chase customers away...
I am having 313i create a logo I can use on my page. It will be used in place of those four images you see now on the main page. I added them there to fill the vast white space for now. Thanks for the compliment
1) try to put the links unit below "Truck Techniques LLC" cuz automatically the ads by google will come under it and the links will be seated right on top of the menu 2) Use ad blending [ change the color of ur link unit background to match the website menu color (orange) ] 3) If possible resize "Feature Item" to match the adsense ad size 4) The other thing possible with the "feature item" table is that you can insert those ads right below the text and above that pic.
Thats look better ad placement, Still one suggestion is ad link at top needs blending try to do and see what difference it makes. good Luck
Now it looks better only one suggestion or make it two 1) Blend the google links unit with the menu - (orange bg + black text) 2) Left align the links unit.
I wouldn't spend too much time with ad placement, Joe. It won't matter anyway without content to bring in traffic. Your time can better be spent adding additional content (you only have 4 pages of content that I could see) to your site and promoting your site via the search engines. The ad placement experiments can wait for later.
You got the ad's placed perfectly with proper blending. Now get some more content as you had posted earlier and you will be making $$ if your content is good good luck
Thanks guys. I started submitting to the directory offers here on DP, my keywords seem to be working well for placement in search engines, my advertising should kick off by May 1st on some popular internet forums etc. Now I'll get started on adding more content. Thanks for the help!
OK. After a couple of weeks, I earned $8.00. I just quit my full time job today LOL Seriously. I have been reconsidering if I should continue to use Adsense on my retail site. I just found out you cannot redirect the Adsense code to open the links in a new window. This finally had me realize that I agree with those here who are not in favor of giving visitors a way out when visiting my website. I want them to continue shopping as long as they want and not give them any reasons to cut that short. I have removed my adsese links this week. I still have them on my bog and will use them on future projects. Thanks again to the resource that is DP
you must keep tracking this and test different ideas and placement it will make a difference in the long run. Cheers.
