I just started a site. How can I get it noticed?

    Hi. I just made a blog about Windows 7 @ www.windows7center.com

How can I get some people coming to it and noticed?
I don't want to submit it to social news sites.
I've pinged pretty much every site possible.

    Any other ideas?
    Thanks.

my blog is about windows 7 news, and since it is new, most of the news are old, and I would be submitting duplicate information.

Does anyone know how to make sure everybody that goes to windows7center.com will be redirectd to www.windows7center.com ?

Those are the same site, so I'm guessing .htaccess redirection?

add this to the .htaccess file (or make a .htaccess file in the root folder)

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.example.com$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/$1 [R=301,L]
    Code (markup):

It really depends on what kind of traffic you are looking for. You may want to think about coming up with some unique content, then submitting to the various social media sites (facebook, digg, etc..)

Can be done in Wordpress, in the settings part I think.. Can't remember.

Here are some things you can do:

    Submit to social bookmarking sites
    Join Entrecard and MyBlogLog
    Comment on related blogs
    Submit to RSS Directories
Ping after each post (should be done automatically by WP)
Get some nice plugins to interlink posts and make site SEO friendly
    Post regularly with unique content

    Good luck!

Ideally, if you want to make this site anything more than regurgitated material, you need to get out there and try and get insider information and try to get it out socially before you competition.

I know it may be hard, but if you want to be a resource for people, you need to be one of the first to report on things.

that is true, but if I managed to get my hands on some juicy info "first", no one would know about it.

social bookmarks are the best for your target audience.

but duplicate contents may not be good in the long run.. just my 2 cents

social bookmarks are good when you have a unique article, but news and a site like mine that often makes references to other sites, is not too good

If you'd like to get some traffic to your site take a look at "LinkReferral".. Just do a Google for that name.. It's free as well..

Submit your link in related blogs or create a WP blog of your own. Inbound links are the key.

That mean he ping search engines, blog directories etc manually or he order a "package" from blog network and ping them all too.
