I'm in the US. I heard PayPal is safe, even though I am hesitant about putting my info out there.
I'm a graphic designer, I recently started a PayPal account.
Is it really "free" for selling?
Do they take any "convenience charges"?

Say I'm selling a logo for $8.00 does PayPal get a cut? How does it wire into my bank account? Are there any "hidden options" I should change?
    I'm in US.

Yes its safe to use them. And they do take some fee whenever you sell something but its very less depending upon the amount. Like when you sell something for $10 they take $0.60 as fee. $1.10 as fee if amount is $20.
This is what PP website says -
And your money is transferred into your bank account once you have it in your PP.

Yes, there is some charge to the seller. However, you can ask the buyer bare the charge if they agree
Sender who using the personal payment has option to bare the charge

Just a small fee, something you don't have to worry about.
You need to focus on getting customers rather than worrying something like PayPal fees.
They really legitimate and provide almost safest service in their sector.
I always using PayPal for my internet transactions.
Two answers above have already remove your curiosity about PayPal fees.
You can also browse PayPal FAQ or contact them, they have very responsive customer service.

Here's one tip: if you want to transfer/send money via PayPal, pick business, like buying goods, service, etc...don't use personal payment because there's a small fee if you send money for personal payment purpose. But they won't charge anything if you send money to buy goods/service :D
