I had just regestered retroloan(dot)com and i had an offer instantly in my mail. I bit surprise how can they do that ?? The offer $xxx. I need a help what will be the right price to sell ?
It's quite suspicious. Some of my friends receive the same offers. Beware since it maybe a scam or something. Just be careful .. ------
As Funbiz said, be really careful. If its from something like then its definatley a scam... There's a few of them going round at the moment. If you feel it is a true offer, get a domain appraisal from somewhere such as Sedo
gingerApple is correct, if you see anywhere in the email and the opening line is your domain is found online or something to that effect, its an appraisal scam
Well the OP got an actual offer... which doesn't seem like an appraisal scam. More information would be needed... but be safe!
this happened to me too, the tried to get me to buy an appraisal at easy name sales.... dont believe them, escrow with a fast deal or no deal......thats the only way to really find out... good luck anyway!
hmm, its also very possible that it's genuine, just make sure you do your research and transact using trusted sites that will make the user and buyer safe like sedo or escrow, if it's a genuine offer i congratulate you
there are a lot of scams, but there is very little risk in negotiating and insisting on escrow. no appraisal should be needed. as others stated, if a buyer asks for an appraisal, then it is a scam. on another note, it is possible that more than one person has a name in mind at the exact same time. it does not surprise me when a newly acquired name receives a valid offer. we have bought and sold names in the same 24 hrs even. good luck!
just write them back you accept the offer and suggest to use escrow.com. if they agree to use escrow.com you are 100% safe selling a domain you just had for a day for over 1k is a good deal I think.
One of the scams usually asks you to pay for an appraisal from a certain company (owned by the offeror of course). Once you've paid for the appraisal you'll never hear from them again.
Just ask them to send the money to you, if the interested party does this then sell the domain to them otherwise keep it and do what you purchased for.
