Hello Guys, I am trying to promote an affiliate program I just got and im using blogging as a marketing tool for promoting the program. I have some questions I want someone to help me with.. 1) I posted my first blog on saturday and when I try to enter my blog URL into google seach today(wednesday), they were not able to see my blog.. im a bit confused here.. I thought google will spider your blog immediately and list into their search engine within 48 hours? Or im I wrong? 2) I want to know how to make my blog rank on search engines? Regards..
It may take a little longer than that ... post a new article and throw it at some social news sites. google will pick up your site quicker. Also, you need to ping a list of sites each time you post to let those 'spiders' know you have food
Indexing is not predictable but there are ways to get it done quickly. There are a few ways here: 1. Social bookmarking 2. Craiglist posting 3. Posting your link on any high trafficked site like high PR article directories, etc. To rank well in the serps, you need to use SEO techniques like onpage and offpage tecniques. It's not that easy. Even if it's a hosted on the blogger script/domain or whatever, you still need to do seo, advertising, content building, etc.

Also don't forget to do the most basic thing. Submit your site to google and submit a sitemap as well.
