I've heard the stories forever. YPN pays better then google, especially a while back. But my site is doing fairly well on Adsense right now, and it's hard to switch when "it ain't broke". One thing that stops me from switching is the fact that Yahoo still doesn't have something similar to Adlinks. That's a good percentage of my income. Another thing that stops me from switching is the lack of targetted ads. I put it on my site for a little while to test things out and it wasn't getting ads anywhere close to what my site is about. So what should I do? Switch or not? Has anyone else switched from Adsense on an arcade site? I've considered leaving adsense on for the rest of this month so I can get as much out of it as possible, and then switching Dec 1st to see how it does on YPN, but still not sure yet. Nick
Why not just put it on one page and track it? Personally when I tested I had it switch between the two for a while. 50/50 30/70...etc etc J
it takes more than a few minutes to get targetted ads. sometimes it can take days for ads to get targetted properly. i agree with the "if it aint broke dont fix it" statement. i also agree with testing it out little by little. i think a good portion of ypn arcade sites use ad targetting to draw up totally irrelevant ads that hopefuly are "higher paying" (just an opinion) than relevant arcade ads. i also think there are alot of ypn arcade publishers (opinion) and, in the spirit of not wanting even more competition, you may not get the great push you seem to be looking for. bottom line is; you wont know until you give it an honest try. so take either jesters or your own advise. i really doubt anyone is going to give you the "hell ya you need to switch asap" statement you are looking for. jmo
I've seen them target irrelevant keywords before too. I have a nice CTR rate on my site and I know that if I use irrelevant keywords, I'm only tricking them into clicking my ads.
