I just bought XPXL.com

Hi, I just bought XPXL.com for $30. Is this a good deal, how much do you think it is worth? Any suggestions for possible uses. Here is what I think:
    XP stands for Experience
    XL stands for extra-large

Here is some of my thoughts:

    1) Maybe I can set up a blog to sell high-ticket priced items, using affiliates from Amazon and Ebay.
    2) sell extra large or over sized clothing through affiliates
    3) sell Sports Jerseys through affiliates
    4) sell tickets through affiliates
    5) wait for a company to adopt XPXL as their NASDAQ ticker symbol and sell it to them for a large sum.

    Any thoughts or suggestions....thanks!

I'd say you got a decent deal indeed! I can already hear the name being spoken on a TV commercial :D I won't try to guess what it's worth, but I surely wouldn't have thought it was unreasonable if I saw it listed for $100.

You could always develop it into a Windows XP site. Maybe call it, "The Super Windows XP" blog or something. You'd have to be really interested in the subject and with Vista due out, you could find that topic to be irrelevant fast.

I think this could have definate possibilities...
I would go for a site that marketed a Windows XP optimization software.
    XPXL makes perfect sense..
    Whatever you choose. Good Luck.

thanks for all suggestions....keep them coming!
I just looked on LeapFish and XPXL.com is worth over $10K according to them. I think the value of 4 letter domains will dramatically rise in the next few years. Here is my outlook:

    Today:
    1 letter .com = Millions
2 letter .com = hundreds of thousands
    3 letter .com = thousands
    4 letter .com = hundreds

    In 5 years:
1 letter .com = tens of Millions
    2 letter .com = millions
3 letter .com = low millions
4 letter .com = hundreds of thousands

    In 10 years:
1 letter .com = high Millions
2 letter .com = tens of millions
    3 letter .com = between 10-20 millions
4 letter .com = high hundreds of thousands
    5 letter .com = thousands

The GOLD RUSH is FAR from over!

nice name although i think your prediction is a bit off the mark.

true, we have to take into account the LDCs that will one day be using the internet in the same way we do today, but whats there to say that there isn't something else that is going to draw people away from using the internet? rendering domain names obsolete.

although it has to be said that newer technologies are using domain names (such as .mobi for mobiles), my pesimism may be just that

    Not true.

There will always be new TLDs to enable the same name availability.

    Peace,

Yea, so since most of the topics here failed to answer your question... Here's my input.

I like the idea with the sports jerseys - big people love 'em.

You could also make it a fat people dating site :) A place for fatties to come together and find other fatties - experienced extra large dating community, lol. But seriously, there's so many fat, single, depressed people in the US that it would probably take off.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

I laughed as I read the 'fat people dating site' suggestion, but the truth is, that may fly!

To answer your question, the domain alone really isn't worth much. 4 letter .com's still expire and become available from time to time.

I like the Windows XP ideas.

4 is rare even now but not completely sold out. But unless you have the right letters its worthless. Like my user name here exaclty as its spelled and in that order is available with every extension including .com. But those 4 letters that make my user name don't really aound catchy or aren't short for anything that anyone is going to remember. So I doubt it's worth anything even if I decided to take it.

    Thanks,
    ivnj
