Cool domain name, not a lot of visitors but that should change. Can we ask how much you paid for it?

Can I ask how much you think it's worth? I bought it because I saw an active (if small) community that I knew would create some coop weight (especially when I get the PR up a bit) and I think I can market the site to ticket brokers (The ads there now on the bottom of the homepage weren't there before).

The marketing potential is enormous since you are targetting a niche with a perfect fit.
PM me, I give you some pointers.

Price tag aside I think you got away clean here with a great potential for growth over time with a rather loyal demographic niche.

It's gonna be interesting to hear from your webmaster diary in about ½ a years time and see what happened to this place, what you did to achieve it and so on and so forth.

    Best of luck jim

Thanks for the security warning, but the previous owner was on the ball with that stuff. The price tag was cheap in my view, probably because the site made close to zero money when I bought it.

The coop weight was worth something, but it's hard to put a price tag on that... I knew I could do something with it because I have some ticket brokers advertising on www.nfl-giants.com

If the price was low, then it was a good investment. The site has PR4 and is most probably out of any sandbox too, so you saved months of waiting and work, if nothing else.

PR 4, very few backlinks, and over 1,000 indexed pages most with no PR.

Give it a mod rewrite and add few hundred incoming links and it -it will do just fine.

If you paid a few buks for it then its a good investment.

    I thought grunge was over?

Don't we live in an American Idol world now?

More like a few hundred bucks but it was worth it. I'm not one to bother with mod rewrite, but I did remove session IDs and of course am getting links. I'm not sure of both the forum and the archive will be indexed but I think they will :) And I think it won't be long before I get a few more ticket brokers advertising with me :)

I loved this site .... a lot of those bands are from "my" generation. Interesting to see people still talking about Temple of the Dog. Just wondering, what's the demographic profile of the posters on this site? The original fans of these bands or a younger audience?

One thing you might consider is giving the post grunge bands their own topic header ... might encourage more posting. Especially ones like Audio Slave.

Just a thought here .... would you consider expanding to include some retro techno bands like Depeche Mode or New Order? Or would this change the focus of the site too much?

The most active posters are American teenagers but we have a few older Americans and few Europeans as well.

The users have told me they want to stick to mostly grunge but I do take suggestions for the "Other great bands" section. Most users want to keep it small.

If I knew what color red the template is using I would set the link color to match, yes. right now links in text of a message are impossible to see unless your mouse is over them...
