    In reality it's probably more than the average webmaster without a masters in design could do but even if you strip it down and present it in a plainer format with the same amount of resources for the affiliate you will get affiliates.......of course a killer conversion rate helps a lot!

    Getting huge affiliate base the fastest way is to contact people with huge followers on twitter that are related to your product then offer them some money in return for tweeting about your affiliate page or buy ad space on high traffic websites in your niche and collect the email id of your affiliates for your future communication.
    Use a friend referral script inside your affiliate page and anyone who refers two friends will be given a bonus product. This will create some viral marketing.

    Post your product on ClickBank and say that Affiliates are doing $300k/month with your product.
    This sometimes gets the attention of some people.
    And do some Keyword Research, get 10-20 very low competitive keywords from your niche, create an Affiliates page on your site and post these keywords on your site to make your affiliate's life easier. I think it'll attract a lot of affiliates.

    Affiliates are running after High conversion...but how can a new vendor offer high conversion if there were no sales made?

    You won't get any affiliates if you can't prove that you product converts... You need to make your first sales by putting up some ads on google adwords or yahoo advertising and make your product sell. If you can't make it sell knowing everything about your product then you have some real testing to do. Just my 2 cents!!!
