And I've already learned some things! So a big thumbs up to you guys! I hope this font isn't huge. My screen is cracked so Im doing this on the TV via HDMI. My resolution, zoom and default font are so far off from what almost everyone else uses...lemme know if it's screwey, k? Now, with that done. Hi. Im Djinn. Im new to this crazy industry you folks refer to Social Media Marketing and Search Engine Optimization. A few months ago I was just randomly link clicking in a haze of insomnia when I happened across an SEOmoz article. I was fascinated. This is the answer to a question I never thought I was technical enough to even ask: How is it that Gewg does what it does? I had been wondering since...lord when I finally stopped asking Jeeves. I had no idea there was a whole industry of people out there who made a living making sure the engines like the websites. So I started learning. I decided a long time ago that I wasn't cut out for a 9 to 5. I've spent the last couple of months looking for freelancing opportunities, and boy is that a tough door to get your foot in. This seemed perfect. I read...and read...and read...until my roommates started worrying about my eyesight. Perfect thing to do when I can't sleep. So many liiiiinks..... Than I started practicing. I have some REALLY understanding friends...I both thank and apologize to them daily. I don't think the band's rep will ever be quite the same...but its not that bad...the band never plays anyway. So, to make a short story reeealy long, I am currently tiptoeing around my first client, a auto machine shop. They're old friends of mine, they understand my position here, I've not promised them magic. We're learning together, as they say, and they're going to pay me for what should realistically be an internship. YAY! It was while I was trying to figure out keywords, namely how to determine good value in keywords based on pretty esoteric data, that I realized I need a mentor. That's where you come in, Digital Point Forums! Aren't you excited? I look forward to picking each and every one of your brains like an ape on lice. -Djinn
Hi Djinn welcome to the Digital Point. I hope you will spend some nice time here. About font, I don't like it it's to small, consider changing it. If you need anything be free to pm me!
Hi, Djinn. Google Trends is a great way to measure the value of keywords. I think AdWords has some tools to do it, too. If you're working with a business and not a blog then AdWords is probably a good thing to look into anyway.
