    Hello,

I am an on-line freelance writer, and I have written for a lot of blog owners, website owners and the rest alike. I have made less than a substantial amount doing this.

However, I will like to own my own blog now. As I writer, I don't think I should have any problem fillig it up with contents. But my problem is how to "monetise" it.

I have come to understand that the best way to make money from a blog is via Google Adsense. But I know less to nothing about how to optimise the use of Google Adsense to make money. Can anybody give me beginner's tip of where and how to start.

Your reply will be utmostly appreciated.

I hope this request is not stupid to your experienced and knowledgeable eyes.

    Thank you.

Adsense imo is only a short term solution to monetising a blog, if your content is good and your traffic is targeted to a good niche then you can make alot more in direct advertising. However that is when your traffic is good. In the mean time Adsense will do just fine.

Pick your design wisely as this could be the difference between alot of clicks.

Best thing to do is read read read , this topic has been brought up more than once all over the net , there are alot of hints and tips how to succeed with adsense etc.

Do not waste your time worrying about monetizing your blog. You just need to get the blog up and make sure you update it regular and bring visitors to your site. Once you get 500 visitors a day to your site than you can move on to the next step - making money from the visitors. Depending on how many articles you write on a daily basis will determine how many people come to your site. Do the hard part first and worry about the easy stuff later.

    1. figure out what you will write about (1 day +)
    2. get the blog and start writing until 500 visitors a day (2 months - 6 months)
    3. monetize
    4. get rich (3 years +) :*)

if you really love to write but aren't good with the technical parts consider a ezinearticle+ hubpage or ezine + squidoo combo.

the serious writers on those websites earn well and it is super easy to monetize hubs.

you use ezine articles simply for extra traffic and backlinks and hubpages or squidoo for the actual profit.

with the click of a button you can add amazon and ebay capsules as well as adsense and kontera.

I agree with the above posters, worry about getting daily unique visitors to your site before you concentrate on monetizing. Use Adsense for a while or indefinitely, if your postings relate directly to an available Clickbank product, by all means provide an affiliate link to it.

Hey, your question is not stupid at all, in fact that's very smart of you to ask for help in setting something up that you have zero knowledge about. :)

First off, I recommend you to use a Blogspot blog as it is very user-friendly for beginners. You don't need a lot of knowledge in regards to anything that has to do with Adsense set-up, or even template set-ups as basically Blogspot spoon-feeds you with everything you want (including Ad placement - you'll be provided with choices on where you want your ads to show up). It will also provide color choices for Adsense ads, so it's really very easy to get started using Blogspot.

Once you're done setting your blog up, you should now fill it with quality content, and if you can try to get your blogroll up (link exchange with related sites). As soon as the blog is decent, apply for publisher at Adsense, and most likely you'll be approved asap. :)

I am quite envy that you have the ability to write. Not all internet marketeer nor webmaster can do that. How to monetize from a website/blog is really not a problem as it different from case to case. Traffic is what you should concern. That's my 2 cents.
