I heard that too much ads will reduce earnings

Is it true that too much ads onapage will reduce earnings ? What is the logic behind it if it is true ?

 

Good qeustion,i guess and most people would think that cramming the maximum amount of adverts on a page would be the best and most profitable way forward i always look at how DP just has one subtle small adsense advert up the top of the forum and the odd one in between some posts on the threads and i am thinking that must be a good answer as that must be the optimum setup for this site.

 

The logic behind it is the more adsense units you display on a site, the increased likelihood that the visitor will click on a low paying ad.

 

I agree to this. The more ads, the more likely that your visitor will leave from your site in seconds. No one wants to read articles in a site bombarded with ads.

 

Of corse it will cause If the user click in one them, the others are considered as simple impressions not clicks which means many impressions and low clicks => low CPC

but what is the guarantee that Google will display more paying ads if we give him less space ?

 

I've always been under the impression that the highest paying ads always show. So if you only have 1 ad, it will surely be the highest paying one suitable for your site. If you have 3 ads, then it will be filtered down more and subject to the luck of the draw.

 

google wants to make money - so will display the highest paying ads if you only have one ad unit
