so let say he buy 1000 impression for 25 cents , and let say he got 100 clicks (just a number) the advertiser only pay 25 cents ? instead of paying 100 * 0.02 (minimum) ? i know 100 clicks are a lot ... but just suppose .
He would pay based on how many impressions he received, not clicks. Hence, CPM = cost per 1,000 impressions. Ad rates based on clicks is, of course, CPC.
Publishers get paid for CPM as well. Just like some days I have .01c for digitalpoint rev share even though I have 0 clicks. I just had enough impressions to get a penny because of revenue from CPM.
now i understand why in my adsense report i see forums. digitalpoint. com 11 0 0.00% xxxxx $0.00 even with no clicks ... but it appear on the page with earnings .
adsense Image ads are known as CPM and text ads known as CPC. am i right? does using CPM ads can increase my earnings?
Image and Text Ads can both be CPM (or not as the case may be). CPM does increase your earnings but by a tiny amount - if you get $1 per 1000 impressions you're doing well. Most people get much less than that CPM - maybe a few cents.
