Almost forgot - if you have such amount of traffic daily, try to do traffic exchange as well.

 

Like everyone is saying, Adsense is the way to go. I average nowhere close to that amount of traffic but still manage to have myself a nice dinner about once a month thanks to Adsense.

You could also look into Affiliate programs, just do your research on them before displaying them on your website, some have strict restrictions. CommissionJunction is a great site for looking into affiliate programs.

 

Better place some adsense banners, you will earn a lot with this traffic.

I wouldn't suggest going with banners - most of them look terrible anyhow and you will get loooooow CTR.

Contextual ad is a good place to start imho.

About bringing a real visitors to your website.
You can start with the Adwords campaign both on Google and Yahoo - people search for stuff all day long.
And while you are doing it, put some time into social media, such as discussions on linkedin, making a blog for your site, etc.

 

Signup with http://www.text-link-ads.com too since site receives that many traffic expect to sell high priced links... also how come you know how to get 40,000 users but not how to monetize them, 40,000 is almost unbelievable? Anyway put up an optin form to capture them as leads, give them an ecourse or newsletter something to stay on your list!

The best way is obviously a membership site, so they pay you a monthly fee for something...
