Upload the .zip to your server into the "plugins" folder. THEN unzip. Login to your Admin Panel and Activate the plugin. Should work. If not, let us know where exactly are you having the problem.
hi, thanks for replying how do I upload the zip file to my server? I downloaded it to my computer and unzipped it. This is what I am doing. Log into c panel. then go to the site wp admin, and go to plugins, then go to add new, and then I press the 'upload' tab but for some reason it just won't let me upload.... the browse window just stays open and I can't install the parts one by one.... oh
Try this: Go to Plugins and search for All in One SEO. When you find it, click on it and look for the red button in the top right corner that says "Install Now". After you install it, there should be a button that says "Activate Plugin". Click that and you're good to go. You shouldn't even have to mess around with downloading it and uploading again etc. Wordpress has made it extremely easy to install plugins and themes like I described above.
You rock!!!!!!! I can't believe how simple that was. Silly me, getting all teary because I couldn't open my zip file. I downloaded it from an outside source, that's probably why. I'll never to do that again! thanks
question, this only works for wordpress i imagine, for a site like mine (penny auction) would making a blog for it and installing stuff like this potentially help traffic and SEO?
Yeah, All in One SEO is a Wordpress Plugin so you can only use it on WP. If you setup a WP blog linked to your site then it could help with the rankings to that blog itself. As far as helping the actual site I'm not positive on that one. Maybe someone a little more experienced than me could help you with that.
well increasing traffic to taht blog should help, atleast indirectly, increase traffic to the entire site. once i get the blog up and going ill do this, i dont know how to install wordpress yet but thats easy enough to find someone.
Yeah it's really simple. Do you have a hosting account with Fantastico Deluxe? You can check by going to your CPanel and looking in there. If you do, you can install WP right from there.
Did you use fantastico? All you need to do is choose the site you want to install the blog on and then the sub-directory. So for example you could set it as www.yoursite.com/blog. You would just type the word 'Blog' into the box where it asks what directory to install WP in.
