Does your site rank for facial skin care, facial skin, or any of the related terms? Having backlinks is a good start, but having relevant (and anchor text) backlinks is better.

Are those backlinks passing Search Engine Rank Position (SERP) value, or are they from any site you could get a link?

The internet isn't magic, you don't simply make a website and voila! traffic finds your site.

I noticed that you have cash payout links and swimming pool links - neither of which has ANYTHING to do with facial skin or skin care.

You might be well served by thinking long and hard about what you're trying to accomplish with your facial skin site, then reading about SEO practices to help build up your site.

Patience Grasshopper... Rome was not built in a day. You only registered the domain on Jan 9, 2009. So your site is still VERY young.

Your home page has tons of backlinks (Yahoo! Site Explorer is showing about 638 to your home page and 772 to the entire site). The problem appears to be that most of them are from blog comments with a rel="NOFOLLOW" attribute on the link which means the link will not pass your page PR and will not help you rank at Google.

IMO you are not likely to get a lot of traffic from someone clicking on your sig in a blog comment. A few random clicks here or there. You are more likely to get sustained traffic from 1) being on other sites' Blogrolls, 2) from being mentioned in other sites' blog posts, and 3) from ranking in the search engines for targeted keywords.

You might want to try directory submissions, article submissions, and getting one way links from other sites whose business is complementary to your but who are not competitors.

The content may well be unique - but it's also largely rubbish. It reads like it's been put through an online translator or article spinner. Huge chunks of it make no sense at all

Your site will not ever get a loyal readership nor will the current visitors ever likely come back because your page is packed with ads.

My question to you is why place so many ads if you don't even have visitors yet, grow your visitors and add in one block of advertising when you reach 300 visitors a day, then maybe add in a little more when you reach 500 a day.

If what Canonical posted is true (nothing against you Canonical) and the domain was registered on Jan 9, 2009, your site is not going to start ranking well in the search engines until August, September, October or even November.

You only have a page rank of 1. Well, the number of backlinks, and the age or the domain are factors in how google ranks your site. You can not take a site, post some content, get a couple of backlinks and expect the site to bump other sites out of the way. That is not how it works.

Its going to take at least 6 - 10 months for your site to rank well. And then expect your site to be at least a year old before you get steady ranking and any kind of real traffic.

The internet is not a light switch, and ranking high for certain keywords is extremely difficult. Aside from having an up to date code, i would strongly recommend press releases and article creation and distribution. Also add a feature on your website that will keep your visitors there longer, that might even help conversions. Keep building relevant links from website with high PR pages, its good that you are blogging about your website, just make sure you are blogging about your services and used appropriate keywords with links. Put some internal links on your homepage using that key-phrase,.... I can give you a lot of advise on things that you need to do, you can visit my website or PM me. Good Luck!!

You have to work hard to have a ranking. First try easy keywords to have a rank and then try for the best.

I'm amazed that nobody else in this thread thinks that the site consisting entirely of gobbledegook is a factor.
This is the standard of the content on there

"These are some of the most powerful natural ingredients, which I have never seen a group of cleaning. However, there is a deep cleansing mask to enable “New Zealand, the companies only with natural ingredients Xtendlife known."
"The harmful effects of smoking on the development and health in general, stressed the need to exit. People with a long smoking tobacco products such as nicotine gums, patches, and others who are not on the market"

    - promoting a site like this is pointless - nobody will read it, nobody will come back, nobody will look at the ads.

I agree, Ezinearticles can provide you quick traffic and back links. I think ezinearticles allows 3 links on the article and 2 links on the author box or its the other way around.
