I have created a quality template for my own website. It took me around 20 hours of work all together. I then decided to give this template away for free with a backlink in the footer. I did not do any promotion, i just posted it on the script home forum... Two weeks later i have 1207 backlinks. No work what so ever really. I was creating this website for myself... Lets do the maths... If i was to release 5 templates this month, considering that all factors stay constant at the end of the year i will have around 130.000 backlinks. PS: I gave you a tip, no more information will be given. eg, links to my template/site/script etc
Interesting. This is something I've considered doing, and this is really encouraging. Especially since I have web/graphic design site, so it wouldn't really be spam.
Great thing is that you will probably get quality, related links and the best thing if you are a designer you are: 1) Getting your name out there 2) Getting some experience 3) Building up your portfolio 4) Reputation etc 5) You will probably enjoy doing this more than the usual link building techniques.
How much to build me a template, and give it away with my link free? You can make some cash after all.....
Where did you post your template? You said "script home forum", where is that? I have a few templates I'd give away for some links!
Good job, mate. I am also thinking about doing it.... I got an offer for this, not sure if to accept it or not!
Valley I charge £20-30/h depending on the complexity of the template and the amount of coding involved. x 20 or so hours. Let me know if you are interested. gford Almost every open source script has a support forum with a template section. eg phpbb or linkbid Ace0 Give it a try no risk involved. j.cardell01 Google webmaster tools and I'm not posting any urls like i said in the first post. Nystul Why not? Wordpress/vbulletin and pretty much every single bit of software released does this.
This is apart of great work, Free Service or Template with free template inexchange with oneway link, this is great
Your effort did pay off in creating a template and giving it away for free. Well... as they say small deeds comes a long way. Thanks for the tip!
