Hi friends, I've a really high CTR of my adsense ads: 10%, but in some days it's even 20%. I don't make invalid impressions or invalid clicks, but I'm worried that google could punish me for the high value of CTR. Is it possible with that CTR value? Thanks in advance for all replies
high ctr could be a problem, write to google asap. or maybe you should remove the chanel with hight ctr 1 or 2 days. but thats just my advice.
10% is to high, yes If your users click, and your site is not against the G ToS ists not a problem...but with 10% the clicks are 100% not conform the ToS
You will not have any problem, even with such a high CTR like 10% if your visitors are met these criteria 1. Legit originate sources - Come from organic results should be fine, come from PPC may be considered about the quality of landing page, come from some link exchange network or spam craiglist is a no no. 2. Natural number of visitors - If your visitors come to your site in natural pattern, most of them should come from a different IP, different location. If you have 600 visitors daily but 500 of them come from the same location everyday then you would have a problem.
There is no hard and fast rule for high CTR. It all depends on Adwords advertisers who are paying you the money. If their conversion is poor, Google will take action. What happens is most newbie advertisers don't track conversions. If real AdWord players find out your site is giving high CTR without conversion, it may be a problem. If your site has high CTR and high conversion, you can make more money by promoting affiliate programs.
why are you worried if your all legit? banner will ban people sometimes for nothing, so if you get banned, consider yourself unlucky and move on. NOthing you can do.
If your following all the rules then you should not be worried. If anything you should write an ebook on getting a high ctr with Adsense.
What are you sources? Like Sxperm said, if you have legit people coming to your site then you are fine.
first, thanks for all your answers. About traffic sources: 63.35% search engines, 34.29% referring (basically from forums, social bookmarks and micro blogs) and 2.36% direct
Hmm...didn't think 10% was all that high tbh. For example, this month I have an overall 16.96% CTR. I don't earn a lot from Adsense but are you guys saying anything over 10% is a warning? Never heard this before.
How the hell do you know? Bad answer. I wish people (and there are several in this thread) wouldn't answer when they haven't a clue. If everything is legit, who cares what your CTR is. Don't listen to the nonsense spouted by idiots who say that if your CTR is over X that it is automatically bad. If you're following TOS and Policies, don't worry about what your CTR is
Back in the old days I had a misspelled domain that I used to send traffic to my site where I sold protective eyeware (goggle.com) Well, I thought people might be misspelling it so I also bought the misspelling of google.com and goglle.com but the traffic from both of those wasn't too high so I eventually sold them
I agree with Adpubster and PM. If your sites are legit, then you don't have anythign to worry about. Provide good quality content and Google should be happy. I've seen people who brag about 30% plus CTR and I don't think that's a problem. For example, if you only get 10 visitors per day and 5 click (50% CTR) then that isn't automatically bad, that I know of. However, if your site is plastered with Adsense, is clearly an MFA site, then perhaps you could get nailed, but I'd say that's more of a poor content issue. I could be wrong but it doesn't make sense to assume 10% is bad.
Yes, this is alarmingly high. Normally google wills tart getting bothered at 5%. 10% is definitely an evil... either write to them or work on getting more traffic that compensates.
Can anyone back up this "evil" about 10%+ being bad? Where are you getting this info? Should I put a voodoo spell on my visitors to stop them from clicking? Or maybe a popup warning saying "Hi there friendly visitor looking for more information. We have already had enough clicks today so please don't click any ads --- This message brought to you by Evil Busters - the 'Keeping Adsense CTR below 5% team' ". Until I'm proven wrong, this thread is ridiculous
