Hey all, New to DP. Been here for maybe 3 days. I have learned SOOOO much here. Wow, the amount of info I have gained since coming here is really nuts. Thank you all for that!! I have noticed another thing though. Maybe I should demonstrate it by an example: I asked a question in another thread- How many backlinks per day is too many for a new site so that it would get slapped by Google? The answers that I got were all over the map. i really mean ALL OVER the map. They ranged from: a) 5 b) maybe 10 c) maybe a few hundred d) less than a few thousand e) who cares? Google aint gonna slap you no matter how many backlinks you get per day During all of this, I noticed that one SEO pro would start trashing another SEO pro. When it was all said and done, I (the true dummy) was left wondering who the heck is right. I wonder if it is possible that nobody really knows the right/ correct answer to most SEO questions? Is it possible that everyone is right? Now that's starting to make my head hurt! lol Oh well. Maybe the process of weeding through other folks' thoughts is the lesson to learn here, and elsewhere. I guess. Just a few thoughts from a DP newbie. Anyone else see this as well, or am I wrong again? :O) P.S. Can't I get around this stupid 7 day requirement for making links thing? Geez... I'm here to learn, not make big bucks. :O)
The internet is full of SEO "experts".. 90% of whom will send you off pissing into the wind.. My advise would be to try out some of the things that sound logical to yourself.. You will learn a lot here but most of what you will learn will be through trial and error.. You obviously don't have to listen to me because I'm no expert.. Just my 2 cents..
The trick is finding out their real skill level, if everyone had their real online earnings right by their name, this would be a different board
I think I agree with ya. Looking for some common sense weeds out most trains of thoughts, but it sure is hard when ya don't know what the heck you're talking about (me). But I'm learning, and that's a good thing huh? :O)
Man, that would be so cool huh? lol I would tell everyone with less than a million bucks to piss in another direction. lolol Sure would shut a lot of folks up real quick huh? And I would know EXACTLY who to listen to. It's a bummer though. I really want real help, but most of the helpers contradict each other. I really liked what 1 fella was telling me the other day. Then he told me to PM him and he may help me out in Christmas spirit. Then he tries to sell me his SEO services. lol Oh well... this place is still awesome, and I am learning mountains every day, even if my hiking boots get worn down while trying to climb over the piles of bs. lol :O)
