I have succefully backed up my Mysql databases. What's next for server change?

    Hell,

    I have a website that I'm moving to a new server.

    First let me stat that it's a Wordpress site, so I'm think that this should be easy but I have never done this before.

    I have successfully exported MySql database for the site via cpanel.

    What else do I need to back up.

    P.s I know how to change nameservers, so I guess I just don't really understand all the different things that I need to back up.

    All of your files need to be backed up as well, so that you can move them to the new host. If you are moving from cPanel to cPanel, you can do a full site backup on your old host, then, have the new host restore the backup, and you should be all set to go.

    I'm moving from SEOhosting.com to hostgator. So I'm assuming since hostgator actually owns seohosting that I'm also moving from Cpanel to Cpanel.

    How do I make a full site back up then?

    In your cPanel control panel, under the 'Files' section, there is a link called 'Backup Wizard'. Use it to create a full backup that gets placed in your root directory, then you can ftp in to grab the backup file.

    go to backup wizard and there will be a option full backup just make it and you backup will be on your file manager of root directory then you can download it on ur pc .. then go to ur new server and go in backup wizard and this time click on restore and upload the file and it's done.. :)1

    Create a database on new host and then login into phpmyadmin and import the sql backup

    IF you have access to WHM you can just import the whole account over. If not, you can use cPanel to create a full website backup. This would helpy ou avoid any lost customizations.

    Ok, so I don't really know what is going on. Do I need to change any names on the databases when trying to install them on the new server?

    The username for my new server is different from my old one and when I go into the database area on my cpanel the extensions that I am given are different now on the names of the databases and I'm think that this is an issue when I am trying to reactivate the the old database on the new server.

    This is starting to get too confusing, so if in order to help me I need to clarify something a little more just let me know.
