I have some things

I sent the mail below to google, what do you think about the idea?

I have some things on top of my head which I would like to share with you:
If a rival webmaster puts my adsense code on some warez or adult site, although I don't have any fault at this, I'd probably get kicked out of adsense. Right?
I think to prevent this from happenning, there should be an option like the following:
An option that would allow me to say : only display my adsense ads on the domains that I specify.
You already have the competing ads filter, I think this also would be a good addition that would help us webmasters have a peace of mind.
    Thanks, and good luck.

How can a rival access your adsense code to place it on the other sites?

Having an option to limit use of adsense. to certain domains would be a good idea.

If you are worried about your code being used by someone else, then you can use channels to make sure all your impressions/ clicks are coming from your sites only. Channels cannot tell, on what all sites your code has been placed , but they will warn you if someone uses your code .

I think that's a good idea if used correctly.

However, I think it's not something Google will implement as it can come back to haunt Google.

Theoretically, a shady webmaster can start placing adsense on a TOS-violating site and then when the webmaster is thrown off for TOS violations, the webmaster can use the so-called "approved sites" that they themselves placed in. They can use this information as "proof" that they never approved for their adsense code to be placed on said site, even though they did.

I am sure that Google doesn't want the hassle of having to check and verify every site because the only way one could be certain that the sites are approved are the webmasters themselves. That's putting a lot of power in our hands to fight Google in case a webmaster ever does get kicked out for that reason.

    Just some rambling thoughts...

Just view the source of a page with an Adsense ad and you can see the Adsense ID.

View source and you'll have the code! I think allowing the URLs you specified is a great idea.

It would be a nice idea to have some sort of control over the urls that can show our ad.

    You do. You can...

    1) Block urls
    2) diable the content network and use site targetting.

I agree. That would be a nice "safety" feature. I wouldn't be surprised to see it added at some point.

Ned is it necessary for you to open your mouth everywhere, everytime?? . Specially when you dont have anything usefull to say?

Someone mentioned my name? ;)

Now seriously this is a very good idea indeed.

And if Google prevents displaying ads other than the specified URLs then there is no use of using on any site (e.g. - warez, porn, MP3) which URL you didn't specify.

I think all users reading this should send a similar email to google. The more requst come, the faster google will implement it

Indeed this is very good idea. And i think easy to implement as well. But there could be some overheads involved to google servers for making it to work.
