I can code very well in C, C++, PHP (although I rarely use it) and Rails (Ruby on Rails). I cannot design layouts or fancy graphics, because I am not an artist. I can code pretty well, though. My main areas of expertise in programming pertain to security and more recently social media. I also know enough AJAX to get around, but not enough to build a full-featured web-app like Gmail or Netvibes. Let's say I find a graphic artist and a web designer.. what would be the best way to make cash fast? I was recently very sick and did not have insurance, so now I'm in debt. I've never been in debt and I now know how depressing it can be. It's very important for me to get back on my feet ASAP because I am transferring to a private college soon and will need the cash (and good credit, possibly) to afford it. Affiliates? AdSense? Content is king, and I could provide content I suppose. However, building a community takes time (I built some video game communities when I was younger). Anyone? When replying, keep in mind that geeks don't think like business people and I don't see trends or know anything about marketing or selling myself, or any of that. I am also not looking to do freelance work at the moment.
Thanks.. I wish you the same. I'm in Virginia, USA. Will be going to college in PA starting next spring though.
Tried freelancing ? Www.rentacoder.com www.guru.com a lot more like that actually. Sites like those constantly look for ppl with programming skills. Any most of them who come there are Webmasters. If you are lucky you might find a webmaster, who would want to "leverage" your skills . All the luck, ~G
However, from the other lines of your post, I somewhat find freelancing to be your best alternative at the moment. Maybe you can think it twice and decide if you still don't wanna go in thin direction.

Don't worry if you cannot complete the frontend. As long as you let your potential client know up front it shouldn't be a problem. They will just have to hire a designer but they should probably save a little by going with you since many people don't realize that it requires two different skillsets. Or you can take on the job yourself and outsource the design part to keep it simple.
