I have just logged into my Google webmaster tools and looked at the Sitelinks section for a few of my sites and two of them have Sitelinks listed, When I do a search in google for my website name I dont see the sitelinks. Has anyone else had this happened to them? Is there an update going on? Am I likely to see the sitelinks soon?
That's how Google actually does it. They never show the links that you have in their index. Don't worry about that as your Google webmaster tools data on site links is accurate as it is where Google actually puts up all your site links instead of their index. All they give in the index is the most relevant links that you have from their point of view. There's nothing wrong about that. It's just the way Google does it.
master06 - sitelinks not backlinks. Gazzerman - yes, a lot of people seem to have the sitelinks in Webmaster tools without it showing up in serps.
can you go to this post and fill it out please? http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=634223
If Google wanted to show all of the sitewide links like Yahoo, it didn't need to add the links page to Webmasters Tools.
Thanks Magda good to here that bermuda we are talking about Sitelinks not "sitewide links" http://www.seoisforgirls.com/blog/2007/10/30/getting-google-sitelinks/ Thanks anyway
The Sitelinks panel in the Webmaster Tools just tells you what Google would show *if* it ever decided that your site qualified for a Sitelinks display in the search results. It provides you with the chance to suggest alternative links and other improvements over their automated selections.
