I have optimized a site, and its still not ranking

its got rankings, but in the wrong country, thats what im saying

for a phrase tahts just as competetive in both countries

im front page in usa, an nowhere in the uk, I kno ranking takes time, but when your front page in the wrong country you start to think something is wrong!

 

Different results in different countries makes sense. If you are looking for any place, firm or good (even brand name), you would most likely want to get a result relevant to your country. You should try to host your website in UK and also set geo preference in google webmaster tools.

 

My site ranks on the first page for non UK google and on the 2nd page for UK google. I'm not sure why the difference, or how to rank better for a specific one. A lot of the ranking differences probably has to do with geographic location of the server. For future reference If you want to check your sites ranking for UK Google just go to www(dot)google.co.uk/ or (not sure about this one, never tried it since I live within the states) just Google.com for non UK searches...
