I have got the idea behind the nofollow attribute in phplinkbid script

There was a post about how to remove the nofollow attribute from the link detail page in phplinkbid script.
The script works like this one has to create a link and pay for it and the link is automatically approved. that's fine.
But even before the payment is completed the bid for the link is set to '0' and a detailed bid page is created and its url is emailed to the one who has submitted.
The detail bid page becomes a part of the site but is not linked.
But people may take advantage by linking to their bid page and spiders will pick up the links in that page so there is really no necessity for them to place a bid.
So to prevent this a nofollow tag is placed.
Now its upto the the owners to remove the nofollow or keep it.

    Ahhh....Good point...Nice thought.

But what about those who paid? They get the nofollow as well...don't they?

I think the above solution ^^ is the correct one. Ofcourse the admin gets the notification mail of the submitted link as well. If no payment is made in 24 hours, remove it!!!! :D ;)

sorry slightly lost as i've no experience with phplinkbid script, so bear with me.

If you say that the detail bid page is not linked to the directory, then what's the benefit of ppl linking up to the bid page? Spiders will not be able to get there from the main directory anyway. Perhaps i'm mistaken, pls enlighten?

they can pick up the link from anywhere else suppose some one registers a link and does not bid still a bid page is created and the link is mailed to him/her
then the person can link it from his/her network of sites and spiders will pick up/
It may benefit if the directory is strong enough ;)

oh, so you are saying that the bid page is ACTUALLY linked to the directory. Guess I was confused with this sentence:

"The detail bid page becomes a part of the site but is not linked. "
