Hey, I am quite new to the world of internet business and recently I have decided to open up a video game/technology blog: http://www.xalfa.info.
I have set up the blog, done ~14 posts - set up monetization (kontera, adsense, some affiliates) - and waiting for PayPerPost.

    But now what?

I have no clue how to boost my traffic and popularity - literally ZERO ideas. I have been using Digg and StumbleUpon - they are decent so far one article from 2 days ago has received 300 hits. Not a lot for some of you but its a ton for me

Anyways: What next? In terms of marketing?

    Thanks in advanced,

    BenderFry

Try sending your blog to some auto surfing blog spots to get the word out and increase your website hit meter. That will help to increase your page rank...but most important of all you need to create some backlinks by posting comments on other similar high profile blogs.

If you have good content people will link to your blog. Digg and Stumbleupon work great to jump start your blog - if your articles are interesting enough to get people to link to them. try tweaking your blog titles so they make people want to read them. Something like "Microsoft Gives Seinfeld the Boot" sounds more interesting than "Microsoft decides to change advertising strategy" In my opinion content is king. By the way, I haven't read your blog yet so I'm not saying you don't have good articles. I'm just a firm believer that any blog that has information worth reading will attract readers. Sometimes it just takes time.

I'm new to this forum but I have been marketing online for nearly ten years. I have seen hundreds of marketing strategies come and go but one thing that has never changed is the fact that if you have something worth buying or reading traffic will follow.
