Yes, I've Dream.. Not to become Rich or Popular but I want to do something for my Country where I was born and grew up.

I'm from India and I was born there and grew up there, Just move to US 5 years ago and now I want to do something for India.

So I was always thinking Its so expensive for people in India to buy computer. It cost around 30K Rs. in India, where average annual household income: 34,551 rupees. ($735) (Source: http://cee45q.stanford.edu/2003/briefing_book/india.html) (I'm not talking about big city but I am talking about Small cities and town).

Because when I was in India, I didn't knew nothing about Computer, I didn't even know what is Internet (5 Years ago). But after I came here I start using it and because very good at it. I made 100K on internet in 5 year, so think what if I had computer way early in my life. And I just felt like it just came to naturally how to use the computer and internet more efficiently . So think about what if all the kids in India have computer while they are 10 - 13 years old. They can have really good knowledge about computer and they can make huge difference after they grow up.

But also looking at other side, they don't have much income to spend 30K for computer plus 600 to 700 Rs. per month for internet so that's not possible for many people

So now I'm searching for source where I can buy computer less then 8K Rs.around $200 and make internet much cheaper so everyone can effort it.

So what you thinking about it guys let me know. I know it's not something that I can just think today and act on it tomorrow. It will take lots of time to finish my this dream. Right now I am 21 so I think I also have lots of time to act on this.

    Please Reply.

Sounds like a nice thing to do, so you're going to buy and sell computers to people in india. Will you be making a profit from this? Also, how do they get an internet in a small village in india?

I don't really think you have the funds to digitize the entire Indian population, but why not start with centralization for your project. Buy a few PC, get it hook up on the net and buy a bus.

This way you can have a roaming internet cafe plus you can go to rural area where there is no electricity though the internet thingy is a little bit tricky since you won't have any connection.

I can't quite remember where, but back than there was a project that was done in Africa with the same technique though due to budget constraint the project was cut off which was sad since the kids there love the project and having it removed just like that, again it a sad thing.

You can try talking to city officials or local community leader to help you out. Sponsorship is always important in any humanitarian project plus you can put up ads on the bus which would further fund you project ;) From there on, once you project get the momentum it needs, you can buy more buses and equip it. Just my 2 cents ;)

What you dont realize is that people in India would rather work (and make their kids work) for 1$ an hour that take the time to buy a 200$ computer and hope to make money

No offence, but you sure dont sound like it
