Yes, write to them right away. They will write back with a canned message thanking you for letting them know and admonishing you not to do it again.

yup, it's always better to let them know as soon as it happens rather than waiting for them to send a warning letter and then having to explain. Send an email with the url of the site and the time at which the clicks occurred and ask them to remove those funds from your account.

I don't have any experience in this area (clicking my own links) but I never contact Google...I think it is always a bad idea to bring attention to your account.

    AfterHim.com,

I think that honesty is the best policy. As Christians, we especially should be forthright. Google is TOO busy to care, but letting them know what happened is proof if they ever closed one's account for fraudulent activity.

    Hello,

I have done this a couple of times during site development (forgot to set "test" as publisher while coding) and the answered with a thank you message. As mentioned above, better write them and keep that as a proof if they block your account.

    Good luck.

Wow, you guys actually notify google when you click your own ad 1 to 3 times? I have personally never bothered... even after more clicks that. Never gotten any warnings or anything from google. I figure they probably don't care unless you start doing a few EVERY day (meaning it's becoming a pattern).

Can you imagine the poor guy whose job it is to answer these emails? Oh my god! I clicked my ad! Don't ban me!

The guy sits over there (if he's anything like me), thinking, you dumb shit, you've had 13 clicks this month and 4 are yours (by accident?). But he has to write this nice little reply back to you, anyways.

The CS stories from that guy would probably be pretty funny.

When I read the title I thought you were being reckless or, more likely, testing the system.

I've thought about purchasing something from one of my affiliates because lately I've gotten ~100 clicks for one of them and no $$. The ads require a signup or email submission, but still... I should think after 100 ad clicks that SOMEONE would have signed up for a service. So my purchase would be a test to see if they are cheating me.

You'd be surprised, they can catch on to stuff after a LONG time. I had some invalid clicks that were generated 8 months ago on my account due to some pay-to-surf sites that I used (didn't realize it was against the TOS at the time)... and google didn't dis-value them (subtract earnings from them) until last month. So you never know when they'll randomly decide to bump ya :p
