You are a girl ? Anyway, you can clean out your computer to some level, but if you have a rootkit /installed/ - forget about it .. It will hook up even KAV :(

LOL! Yes, I am most certainly a girl, well more of a lady, heck! I am the queenofdreamers after all...but some of those big words you use make me feel like a little girl.... rootkit??? Kav???

Either way, I now have the Kans Internet program installed. And this week, I will take this PC down to a PC doctor and let them take a look. Maybe they know what you are talking about.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I bow to your knowledge...

I agree jvcus. I was surprised that they came from someone here. I have been purchasing a few toys and tools, and am sure they came as an unexpected gift. Either that, or I saw a thread today where someone is saying that Paypal was sending out a virus as a gift....

Just what I wanted. Pet hackers.

    Where is my hacker swatter?

    Whack you little pests....

    Oh, sorry

    KAV -> Kaspersky Anti-Virus
Rootkit -> a virus/app which can control your PC to allow remote code execution, etc. ( wikipedia is good enough to find more information about this stuff )

    Hope this helps

Thank you Activefrost. I will use your suggestion on wikipedia. I have been learning sooo much that sometimes I forget how it can be made easier.

My "Kav" is working, once again, as we speak. First I did a quick scan, now the full version. My PC is working better, but still, I will take it to the PC doctor.

If you downloaded programs from the net, with connection to your pc. Might as well not buy antivirus. Because running programs that are downloaded will automatically shut down your antivirus definition anyway if its intent is to do that.

If you are just surfing the net and getting attacks, then your antivirus will block it and notice you. But if the virus is running as long as your processor is, there's no way no knowing.

Thank you Tech. I am sure that these hackers were from here. I wish I could remember who they were, but when I clicked on them, or their programs I purchased, my virus alert said there was a Trojan.... Hopefully now that I have the Kaspersky this will be stopped. I will bring my PC to a doctor soon to make sure.

Dang it. We can never be too careful.

    :(

Viruses and Trojans are always the cause of the problems especially when your PC is connected to the internet.

If you are looking for a free version, I would suggest AVG and if you are looking for a paid version, I would highly recommend Norton 360.

Other than that, I would suggest that if you do not have any valuable data on your PC, format it and do a clean install. Once through, immediately download and install a anti-virus before you install any other software.

TIP: You may want to make sure the OS you have is not infected with virus (normally pirated are) or else doing all this will not be of much help to you.

Thank you aloksharma. I had the free version of avast installed. It did not help. Than I downloaded the Spybot. It helped, but......neither one made me feel safe so I paid for a year of the Kaspersky Internet protection. This is the one that most people here have recommended.

As to Norton. I will never use that again! I had two computers crash while using it. One was less than a month old. I was using the Norton paid programs and they did not work at all. So never again will I use the Norton products.

I do hope they are working for you.

    Hello, Lonet.

I was using the Avast home edition when this happened. Maybe the pro edition would have been better....I have had many of the members here all say that Kasversky is the best program and so I uninstalled the Avast and downloaded the Kasversky Internet protection.

I believe both the hackers and trojans came from traders on this forum. Please, everyone, make sure your virus programs are up to date and working. I was denied access to google until I fixed the problem...

    Thank you for your thoughts.
