I have an idea that I think would be great for an E-book

I have this way of getting traffic (possibly targeted) to a site, it works and I have proof. I think that the idea is very original and would be great for an e-book. If I decided to make an e-book about it, how long do you think it would have to be? I would sell someone the idea or give them my screenshots of proof and help them make an e-book, but they could just steal the idea and I'm left with nothing. What do do you think I should do?

    Thanks,

    Dillmando

There are alot of general marketing ebooks out there. I'd focus on advertising XX type of site.

It should be long enough to cover the topic completely. That might be 2 pages or it might be 200 pages.

Depending on where you and the writer live, you would come up with a contract that says the writer won't steal your idea, sell your idea, or tell your idea to anyone else.

If you take your time and find a reputable, professional writer, you'll find someone who's not into stealing ideas.

As you interview writers, give them a general overview of your idea, but don't go into details until you've found someone reputable/have a signed contract.

You should sell the ebook at high price such as $90 mean that only a few people can afford it.
And to make your ebook more valuable, don't sell it with resell right.
So there is limited of people know your techique.

Don't sell the e-book! I mean, don't disclose everything in your e-book. Use it as your front end for a product or a service.

Create a landing page where you tell people that you will give away an e-book on a particular topic if they subscribe via e-mail.

This would allow you to build your own list of people interested in the topic you are writing about.

Now the e-book is a great front end, but you have to think of what product or service to sell as a back end. Once you've build a list and created this back end of yours you will have the ability and permission to send people that have already subscribed to the e-book your next sales pitch.

An info product on how to generate traffic would be nice in your case, I think.

    Hope this helps. ;)

Create your ebook and sell it here use the feedback from here to tell you whether you should take it to a mass market and maybe publish it on clickbank or whatever.

If your method works and traffic increases why sell it at all? Presumably it can be applied across all niches and sub niches. You could make loads of money simply setting up blogs and sites and get either adsense, affiliate or your own product.

However if you want to become a guru then selling it is the way forward with a site and list building. Maybe make it into a subscription site to maximise return.

I'd be more than happy to ghost write your e-book and your site content so PM me if you're interested.

As stated above, it would be great for you to fully monetise the method before you sell the internet your secret, especially if it is possible that the method will become saturated. May seem like a clever thing to do to make some money now, but if it's unique you'll regret it in the long run.

When you think you've made enough from the method, you should then write an ebook on it. The book should be as short as you can get it: if you can tell me how to get 10000 UVs a day in 2 pages, then I don't care, as long as the method works I'm not too fussed. Don't make it too long though, as people will get bored and then the ebook has failed. Screenshots would be good, but make sure you explain what is going on in the screenshot thoroughly.

    Good luck! :)

Wow thanks for all the posts, I think that the idea is simple enough to put it into about 3-10 pages, and I think that I'm going to try selling it with resale rights, but they cant sell it on DP. I would allow resale rights, because I think that it would really up the amount of people buying the e-book, and I don't need an insane amount of money for the idea.
I have 2 more questions I can think of.

    1. Around how much do you think I should sell the e-book for if it was 5 pages, including a few screenshots?

    2. What section of the site do people sell e-books in?

    Thanks,

    Dillmando

When you sell an eBook, you don't sell it based on the amount of content, you sell it based on the quality of content, and that's vital if you want to make a good sale. To make more money you should explain your points well and write in easy to read, fluent English. If you struggle writing clearly, then you should hire someone to proofread it and correct any mistakes you have.

You should ask for a review copy from an experienced member of these forums, and based on that review you should have a price. If the method is rated 10/10 then you could be able to sell it for a fair amount. Here on DP the majority of ebooks sell for anywhere from $5-$40, it really does vary a lot.

If you sell it here then you should sell it in the Buy, Sell and Trade section of the forums :)

just think of a creative way to market it if you have a good idea for the book just follow through and do the marketing. I belive it is best to do as much as you possibly can by yourself if you have the time and organization
