I have an idea, how to find investors?

    Hello,

I have this idea for a website/business but don't have the knowledge to create the site. I know that EVERYONE who wanna start a business thinks he has a great idea, but the one I've been thinking about for almost a year now still is'nt covered anywhere. (as far as I know)
The market in this niche is huge. And my strategy and ideas of getting this site attractive for almost everyone in this particular niche is solid.

So, my questions for this, since I'm completely new to creating a real business from scratch, is:
    1. Find investors. How do I do it, how much should I tell about my plan? (don't wanna risk anyone stealing it)
    2. Found a team of experienced coders. I need the site to look PROFESSIONAL and the freelancers I've hired at freelancer [dot] com has'nt been that good..any other place to find a team? This site is not a one-man creation, it requires a team working together.

Maybe I'm thinking about doing this in the completely wrong way, but I do need help to get started with this. I don't ask you to do all the work for me, just a few tips on how it's done. :)

Rather than looking for talent in marketplaces like elance, freelancer etc where the stress will be on lower pricing rather than quality, you can look for experienced coders in email groups or niche forums where they hang out. These email groups/forums know who are their most valuable members and you can inquire about them too.

Try Y -Combinator or maybe Kickstarter? There are hundreds of Venture Capital firms in Silicon Alley

I can vouch for Kickstarter, we have several associates who got investment through this route.

+1 for Kickstarter. If you have a solid business idea and can put together a quality presentation it's very possible to raise the funds you need there.
