    Call your bank and ask them if they collected US $ cheques. Most of the time they deduct some fees.

    Yeah, good fees! They will charge you over and over. Better to try to receive money via Paypal, it's much cheaper than paying to cash checks.

    You can always deposit at your bank by singing on a declaration form. If you ask them to make a deposit so they do not charge, else some amount will be deducted from that amount and it would take a month's time.

    deposite this in to your bank. they will ask you somecopy of ID proof with your signature.
    bank will charge around Rs. 750 for foraign currancy check.
    it will take around 45 days to clear it.
