    Hello
I have been doing some research and happen to see a post that was similar to a question I had.

    Its fun.

    Here goes.

    OK
I bought a domain name about 7 yrs ago. I used it a couple of times, I do not think its indexed by Google- it has no web site on it.
    Its say
    "northcoast-mykennel.com"
    "northcoast-mykennel.net"

so I have spent a lot of cash, but am not using the sites.
I bought "norcomykennel.com" 2 yrs ago and have been using that site.

A few yrs after I bought "northcoast-mykennel.com", someone bought "northcoastmykennel.com". I made a mistake, I should have bought the domain name with out the hyphen.

So, the other guys "northcoastkennel.com" have been working off and on. It is now on "for good" it looks like. It was registered for 4 yrs and has a yr left.

So, whats my point or question?
1)I don't want to dump an aged domain(s) (its not indexed - it has had no good content for the 6 years I have had it registered.

2)My content will be a duplicate kennel name on google, this cant be good. Hoverer my site at "norcomykennel" is page ranked at a 2, his "northcoastmykennel.com" is page ranked at a 1

    3)Whats better
    norcomykennel.com (abbreviated - a pain to explain)
northcoast-mykennel.com (duplicate of someone else's name, but the site has been registered for 6 yrs. - a pain to explain)

    GOOD LORD

    Thanks
    Take care

    Tim  :tu:

Best thing you can do is let one of the dogs do your SEO and make the decisions!!!
    Hells Bells what a question!
Just regsiter some thing else like nckennel.com etc. Make it snappy. Their is little SERPS advatage since the domain is alreasy in so much of a niche that the domain age will be of little advantage since the seaches I would guess would be very low.

The second hyphenated one is better, although I'm not a fan of either of them. You could try and sell the aged domain, but I can't see you getting too much for it. I'd agree with valley, register a better domain that fits your site. A new, quality domain is better than an aged mediocre one.

    Yes,
I don't like the "my" bit.
I think it is an invitation not to click even at the top of the serp
