I have a website that's named after JennaJameson

My question is this, am I breaching any laws ? I have no doubt the actual name may be an issue ?

The thing is I am an affiliate for a site that legally sells DVDs and Memberships for Jenna Jameson related content / online video memberships.

I only use their sales pages (within my templates) and also use their movie files that they issue to visitors and affiliates for promotional purposes (hosted on my video site) and embeded into my site.

Now usually I would place a disclaimer "This site is in no way affiliated with Jenna Jameson" etc. but the thing is I am I guess.

Is there anything I should be doing to cover my ass ?

    Thanks

You mean your domain name bears Jenna's name and you're an affiliate to sell
such? You might want to read your affiliate agreement.

But as screamfine, you'll know soon.

Well, she does have her name trademarked. So, technically you could have problems. However, her company may find it acceptable use as you are selling their products. Did you have to submit this URL to them when you became an affiliate? If so, then I think it would be unlikely that they would come after you after having approved the site. If not....

Basically, yes, the domain could be taken from you if they found out about it and wanted it. I couldn't find one case where she went after a domain though. Probably she and her company view this as free advertising.

Yeah the URL has JennaJameson in it, was actually a good pick up and the domain is a popular search term, we have submitted the URL to the provider and had no dramas there ... yet, who knows how much say or power the affiliate network has though - blingbucks.com and they own Pornstar.com.

We'll see how we go and hope we have no issues.

I would leave it as it is. If they have issues with it, they will let you know- trust me! IF you're an authorized dealer of her videos/ dvd's, etc, then i don't think there would be much issue, but trademark is a funny world sometimes.
