I have a site with traffic, but LinkShare affiliates aren't working so far? I am wondering about how to prperly market an affiliate program. I thought I could throw up some affiliate banners in my existing rotation and make a bit of money. That isn't the case. I have $40 in the first week and tried half a dozen different affiliates programs through LinkShare. I first picked programs that matched my site's genre and that didn't work at all. Any tips?
i guess most of linkshare merchants are CPA. you cant make ppl buy things off your site nor you can force them just make sure the site appeals to them and it makes them come back again.. and over a course of time, they will gain confidence and maybe buy something.. i guess most of the ppl now know how the ads work so if they see somthing they like, they would first check the actual company b4 clicking on the ad. just my opinion
Well, I know of people the do quite well with affiliates too. I wonder what I can do to optimize my results. I guess a banner up top isn't the answer.
You have to make a site around what you are tring to sell. The page the user sees must be targeted toward what the person is searching for. Every person who visits my sites come from a search engine looking for something. I get what they searched for by code and I give them relevant affiliate links tailored to what they searched for. The point is to get targetted traffic. Sticking banners on a page will do little.
